People doubt skinner because of his rookie year in the playoffs. They doubt him because of his "rough start" to the season. Any goalie would have his numbers with the way his team was playing in front of him. Hellebuyck right now is a great example. Hes better than he gets credit for

they made a great point about how clean the game in the after whistles drama was. They played very hard, but the chippyness was down. Full props to both sides. Game 5 is going to be nuts. I think oil takes game 5, but Kings fan should hold their head high, that game the kings played was elite.

The only goalie to face more shots has been Helly. The only goalie to make more saves is Helly. They only goalie with a shutout this playoffs, is Skinner. Last night pushed him into the top 10 in SV %. No chance of him cracking the top 10 in GAA though. Rittich only faced 13 shots, that's not standing on his head. What made him good was the fact he never fell asleep standing up...

Game 4 didn't show that the Oilers put all the pieces together (how can you say that in a game in which they were dominated?), but it probably shows that they have all of the pieces. They can out-score teams, and they can play a complete game in front of Skinner, and now they have had a goalie win a game for them. It's looking good, but the Oilers need to be worried that the refs get scared to call penalties due to how good their PP is.

i'd argue oilers have the best PP in the league, but not the depth of other top tier teams. If skinner can be solid in net its our best chance to frustrate teams in to taking penalties

As an Oilers fan, no we haven’t. After the Caps, Islanders, and Kings leave the playoffs we are the weakest team left. We can get going, but we can’t stay going, and that’s our issue in the playoffs. But that being said there are infinite variables in the playoffs, any team has a chance.

Gino and Ryan - Do you guys not understand that the reason the Oilers are able to play good defense against the Kings for one game is because the Kings are not a very good offense? And yet the Kings have still scored a bunch of goals on the Oilers this series....one good defensive game out of four against a very mediocre offense and you sound like you're expecting a parade? Evan Bouchard can only play well, and rarely, against an average offense...put him up against the Canucks, Avs, or Stars, and Evan is back on the MOON.... I understand you have to do this for ratings and to keep fake hope alive for Oiler fans, but it's a bush-league take. Wait till the Oilers face an elite team, likely in Round 2.
