I'm in Houston, We're getting into our Riding Season, I usually shut it down from late June to end of August. Will for sure be joining you in December. I COULD ride in July and August, but sitting in traffic in 100 degrees on the way home from work isn't fun when I have an Air Conditioned truck option.

Us Canadian bikers are into the layers and winter gloves already, and since I'm an old phart, I'm down to a couple hours in the afternoon on warmer days. Putting the babies up next week, but hoping to get a couple last hours in this weekend. Then the batteries come out, and the covers go on for the long nap 'till April. Winter sucks, but it's time to plan next year, and save up for parts. Best of luck to our brothers and sisters facing the storms this year. Sending y'all good vibes from the Great White North.

I talk a somewhat mean game about riding throughout the year, but we don't drop temperatures like you go through. Not even close. Hope you get some decent weather this weekend before they go hibernate for a bit, but that's a great take on making plans and saving some money up for parts and such. You may not be riding, but your mindset never switches off. I like it 💪 I've been watching Hurricane Milton like a hawk the last two days since seeing how bad Helene ended up being for the US. Effecting a lot of our community of riders and much, much more, unfortunately. Even after that, everyone has to watch out for your wintery storms like you mentioned. Stay safe and stay warm!

I'm in southeastern PA and as far as I'm concerned, there is no riding season. In cold weather, as long as the main roads are clear of snow and salted, I will ride. I do not have a garage, though, so occasionally one or more cables freeze, forcing me to resort to four wheel transportation.

I live in the pacific northwest.....it was cold on the mountain today. I think we will continue to ride intel mid October. We will see. Ps, I must have seen atleast 25 or more also riding on Mt hood.

Like you, I consider myself lucky to live somewhere with a “moderate” climate so I can basically ride all year. In my area of Texas we’ll get cold fronts that drop temps below freezing, but our high temps are typically well above freezing even during winter. If it’s below freezing I’m definitely not going to ride. I don’t particularly like riding at night, but I’ll do it if it’s my only option. I don’t like the decreased visibility making it harder to spot hazards on the road….and spot cops. 😆

There’s my fella night owl. I’m waiting to see you drop a video in November with triple digit temperature in Texas. With the climate all over the place I wouldn’t be surprised. I’m with you on the freezing temperatures. I may ride to the store and back and that is about it. If there is any moisture on the ground, I won’t chance it, but I like to keep the bike off the battery tender. I flirted with the idea of winter gloves last winter in conversation with you and this go-around I certainly will. You got me beat with the heated jacket though. As far as night rides, I am a fan but only cause my bike is a lot slower than your Yamaha. I’m like the Waze app spotting the police early enough. Although, these red light and school zone cameras are EVERYWHERE!!!

I’m pretty good at spotting police, but it’s getting harder with more and more police in my area switching to unmarked Explorers. Now I hate every soccer mom that drives a Ford Explorer. 😆 We used to have red light cameras, but Texas passed a law in 2019 prohibiting them. However, I’m still hyper vigilant at every intersection. In 2002 I was in an accident because a lady ran a red light and I t-boned her car with my truck. Thankfully she was okay, but had anyone been on the passenger side of her vehicle, they would NOT have been okay. Ever since then I’m like RoboCop scanning everywhere as I approach an intersection. I know what you’re thinking- “wow, RoboCop….what a really up to date, contemporary reference!” So you sold your Challenger? I must have missed a video.

I have a bone to pick with the unmark PD units. I mean, even hunters have to wear a bright orange cap when wearing all camo. Just saying… Made me laugh reading about the soccer Moms throwing you off. I get it, I do but I am one for not over policing. Around here they pay a third party to monitor the footage and send the “guilty” videos to the police for final review. It’s nearly a break even for the police for funding. Just seems like over policing but when you are saving even one accident, my logic is flawed. I feel bad for those that when they see a $50 bill come in the mail, it can change even something as simple as their next meal. Now that’s a crazy debate. Glad all parties were safe during her red light mad dash. RoboCop is cool so it works in this comment section. Anyone that thinks otherwise was born in the wrong decade. Yep, Challenger is gone like the wind and I mentioned it in detail during Episode 71. Episodes #71 (Motorcycle or Bust) #70 (Naming YOUR Motorcycle) & #68 (Motorcycle Guilt) were unchecked for going out to notifications and subscription feeds. Always trying different things in the world of KZbin. Mixed results.

Perfect weather! Hope you did ok from that hurricane. A goal of mine is to one day travel across country and make it public on the channel. Would be fun to meet up at a bunch of spots on the way. Florida is definitely a spot on my radar.
