Thanks for watching. This one took me much longer than it should have but I'm happy with the overall results. About 3 months of work into this and I do have a new mic now but I really liked most of the takes I did for the voiceover so I decided to keep my old mic takes in, even if they weren't the best quality sometimes (also I just wanted to finish the video). I have learned a lot about blender and am getting better. The assets used when talking about certain characters and having the banners and cards pop up were made by a good friend of mine. Thank you for being patient as always.

Fun fact: after killing Mithrix and starting the collapse, if you go to the teleporter you spawned into the stage at, you find a frog statue. Donate to it a few times and it takes you straight to the planetarium, meaning you can kill both bosses in one game.

Risk of rain is just one of those games that has an immaculate atmosphere to it. The music, the landscapes and the lore give a feeling of adventure and far away mystery, but there's a more humorous side to it all with some of the items and small references. I listen to its soundtrack regularly

Dude, that was an excellent breakdown of both games, I love that you gave time to all sides of the topic too and how you dove into describing and breaking down everything! The animated transitions were fun and I love how they came out. fun fact, if you get the alternate skin for railgunner by beating mythrix or sacrificing yourself at the alter thing, it is actually extremely similar to sniper (I’d say it literally IS sniper), which helps support the whole ‘railgunner is inspired by sniper’ idea. It’s really cool!

You could note that green items are more specialized than white, red are more specialized than green, and yellows often act as direct upgrades to green

Its probably still more accurate to say rarer tiers are more powerful. Like you can't say Ben's raincoat is a specialized Tougher Times. Or that the brilliant behemoth is specialized sticky bombs. As for direct upgrades as yellows, barring the titanic knurl and mired urn, I'd claim they're on average more specialized. Shatterspleen is a bleed item, much better than daggers, but requires either some daggers or some crit to work, thereby making it specialized. Most minion summoning items are in this category and so none of those are direct upgrades to any green items. Yes Shatterspleen does make enemies explode, but if you don't have some way to cause bleed in the first place, that ability is useless and thereby a specialized one.

@@Steampunk_Kak Yes, which would go so far to say that shatterspleen is not a better bleed knife. Only if you have other items, which then thereby makes it specialized. Its damage potential is gated by the presence of other items. I never said it couldn't proc, but if you just started a run and had a choice between a bleed knife or a shatterspleen as potenially the only item you'd get? You'd probably end up getting the knife. Not that such a run would last very long.

I can state that this game is just so addicting, once you start playing, you most likely won't stop playing just because the game is well made and it has a really important thing for games such as replaying, you want to play over and over and that's why this game is so good

One theory that I like is that void reavers and JAILERS (!) act as almost a balance check for the universe of RoR2, keeping everything and check and making sure that people like Mithrix and providence don’t ever happen again. The reason void reavers show up after a loop is because that’s the point in the run where your probably really strong with a lot of items, so your powerful enough that the void thinks you need to be locked away for the safety of petrichor-V. They don’t mind mithrix because he was locked away on the moon, and providence was kind and used his power for good, but you use your power to kill the natural inhabitants of the planet, so you get locked away forever. Once they saw that you killed mithrix, they absorb the moon in a last ditch effort hoping to take you with the damn thing. The only thing that slightly invalidates this is scavengers as they also pick up items but I think they’re peaceful towards the monsters just like providence so that’d be why they don’t get hunted by the void either.
