Cold steel actually makes a 1911 themed knife

Originally the design was a Fred Perrin design, called "Le Tri-Folder " then a mini version perrin made was called "Le Pititri" been around for a few decades. A decade ago, cold steel made a larger but decent knock off called the triple action

The design dates back to the early 20th century. Fred Perrin and Cold Steel both revived the concept - in their own separate ways - in the 1990’s. I have one of Perrin’s “Le Pititri” knives, and it is quite fun.

Cool, first thing I thought of was that it looked vaguely, yet pretty familiar from something I had seen at some point from Cold Steel. We had a DvD or two of their knife tests when I was growing up that I would watch over and over …needless to say that as an adult I am a huge fan of Forged in Fire XD And ALWAYS been a fan of blades. Have had a pocket knife since I was 4 and when I was young I’d often carry around 4 or 5 knives 😆

I used to sell various manufacturers versions of this knife style in the late 80's/early 90's. The Jacob's Ladder was a very popular toy. I say toy as the tip would get damaged if (when) the side closed at a greater speed than the blade fell. Still a fun time opening & closing. It was not lost on me that you didn't show its closing manipulation at speed.

I was always confused by that, if a switch blade or balisong is illegal because you can activate them fast, then why are fixed blades okay? Regardless of how good you could be with either of the former, the ladder would still be faster in most occasions, wouldn’t it? Rather than pulling it out and performing some kind of other action, pulling out a fixed blade is all you need to do to become dangerous with it, so why have those always been more acceptable?

Yeah this is considered a gravity knife which is even more heavily restricted in most states than even balisongs(butterfly knives) and switch blades.

You almost never get arrested for an illegal knife, you get arrested for something minor(or something horrible hopefully the former) and then they can add a felony in some cases if you have an illegal blade(and in many states that definition is arbitrary going back to fixed blades, they can be a felony too depending on it's aesthetics and how the law is interpreted). All of this is more ridiculous because any folding knife with an Emerson Wave is locked and ready to go by the time it's out of your pocket, no switch or spring necessary, the notch catches on your pocket.

Just go one. It’s very very cool and the quality is great but 2 things. If it isn’t closed properly the lock bar slams into the blade dulling it. Also it needs a touch of oil to work perfectly.

The trifold knife was one of best knifes ever in my opinion I mean see how when used to it you can open as fast as switch blade?? I used to play with my case before I sold it for 300 everyday
