There was also a Karaite community in Hit, Iraq which is where the Karaite break off group originated in about the 8th Century in Bavel/Babylonia, which is now Iraq (more or less). It was started by Anan Ben David. He was passed over by the leaders of the Jewish community, the Geonim, for his younger brother who they saw was much God fearing than his older brother to become the Exilarch. Out of his anger at this, he said that the Rabbis and the Oral law are not valid, thus in effect getting back at those Rabbis/Geonim who chose his younger brother. It's very likely that Anan had access to writing of the Sadducee movement which was very strong during 2nd Temple times. Today there are no extant writings from the Sadducees of that time. Also, there were Rabbinic Jews in Crimea as well and they too spoke a Jewish-Tartar language. In addition there also existed a Judeo-Persian language which the Persian/Iranian Jews spoke. Also, it's very possible that a Judeo-Slavic language existed in the past. I read about it many years ago and there was a scholarly book written on the topic but I couldn't afford to purchase it so I didn't find out more about the topic. Aramaic was still spoken up to modern times by Jews from Kurdistan (norther Iraq, Turkey, Syria) and from Urmia, which is in Northeastern Iran. I have met Jews from both of these groups. One of them told me that when he became religiously observant it was very easy for him to learn the Talmud/Gemara because he already spoke Aramaic. Others who become religiously observant, and they being to delve into the Talmud/gemara literally have to learn a new language; Aramaic. Of course Aramaic is very similar to Hebrew and was spoken in ancient times by the Jews in their mundane, everyday speech. As I was saying Aramaic is very closely related to Hebrew. When I learned the book of Daniel which is written in Aramaic except for one chapter I was able to understand about 75% of it without having to look at the translation of the Aramaic to Hebrew. And as a woman, I never studied the Talmud/gemara very much and when I did, I used an English translation. Thank you Adson_von-Melk for mentioning the Juhuri language of the Kafkazi Jews from Azerbaijan and Dagestan. Also, the Bukhari Jews speak Bukhari, which is also a dialect of Persian. Today most of the Bukhari Jews speak Russian and don't use Bukhari as much. Though I have met Bukhari Jews from Israel and there they spoke Bukhari, not Russian in the home. Thanks so much for this video. I especially like that you put in samples of how the language actually sounds.

Ashuri languange is spoken among Jews who migrated from Iraq in the 50s. The descendents of Ashur and Arpakhshad lived together thousands of years before Abram left Mesopotamia, so they intermixed and had same language, religion, ..until nowdays. The only thing that divided us was unfortunately Jesus. Due to different reasons, often political, and other pressure the Ashuri embraced jesus and forsake their Jewish faith. In the third century many Ashuri converted back to Judaism though.

Yes that’s true. The ultimate question is determine at what point each language became that language. For example, is ancient Hebrew (which is essentially a Proto-Semitic language) actually Hebrew or is something else entirely and what we know as Hebrew came later? It’s almost impossible to pinpoint when a language actually began.

Thanks for nice and interestin videos. When u say aramaic alphabet, I hope u mean the , כְּתָב אַשּׁוּרִי‎, Ktav Ashuri, another cornerstone we have in common, likewise it's gematria. The first documented use of gematria is from an Assyrian inscription dating to the 8th century BC, commissioned by Sargon II. The Ashuri language is preserved until today by Ashuri (Assyrians) in mideast AND Jews in Iraq. Most scholars today agree that the living spoken Ashuri language is slightly related to aramaic, hence neo aramaic is wrong designation. Similarity between Ashuri and Aramaic, which is extinct, is same as between German and English. So not as German and Yiddish.

I have a doubt regarding name Ashkenazi why nazi! At end and btw they are the type of jews who were living in Germany and Europe so you know nazi means what then why it is a suffix?
@Ichrubbeldiekatz
@Ichrubbeldiekatz 4 ай бұрын
Ashkenazi has nothing to do with the political term "Nazi". Ashkenaz/Aschkenas is just the name for German in rabbinic literature. The term "Nazi" originally comes from the name “Ignatz (Egnatius )”, or in short "Naz/Nazi" (diminutive form). "Nazi" (as in the name Ignatz) was also used to describe a person who is backwards or stupid (ironically). "Nazi" was basically a synonym for idiot (and still is). The political party (NSDAP) did not call itself "Nazi" very often; in fact, the popularity of the "Nazi" term only increased in the post-war period. For this reason, Hitler even wanted to ban the word when he came to power.

you should read a bit about when the jews rounded up al the Christians up put them nazino island. interesting how the nazi bit constantly comes up. also national socialism, original sozialism. this is because the jews created socialism and national socialism and they love throwing random z's into words to claim them and then when the word gets a bad rep, they will change the spelling to anglicized it.
@jordan3636
@jordan3636 4 ай бұрын
remember national socialism is the ideology of the national socialist and mostly where we credit facist and national socialist ideology. Remember that the first thing Israel did to settle Palestine was to set up dispersed communes everywhere to settle the land, these kibbutz still are a central part of the Israeli economy today, the socialism as well as the facism, but I probably need not describe it here. israel was a national socialist country committing genocide in early 1918 way before hitler and the nazi's. even though the germans are actual indigenous people of Germany, where as the jews through their nomadic behavior have made themselves indigenous people of no country. Let's also consider that at the beginning of a new very imaginary nation, that Israel and the zionists might have desperately needed population to support this new country, but that would require somehow convincing all the worldly jews involved in various national banks and positions of power such as the community in germany.

I have a question why world hates jews like they have always been oppressed throughout their history first sumeria then Egypt then Persians then Greeks then the holy Roman empire then Arabs after that when they came to Europe in medieval times they were still oppressed for centuries and also counted as social backwards then hitler just killed millions of them and all throughout this 3,000 years of oppression they just demanded a single country Israel And in morden times when they were attacked first by terrorists and they defended themselves they are being hated and called oppressive I don't think what Arabs did for like 1400 years this casualties of war which is on both the sides btw is nothing. And still suffering for their entire history they are great scientists, investors, businessmen, politicians, writers and any filed you imagine a Jewish man has done big contributions into that . I'm ashamed for what morden world does against jews even if there is war between Russia and Ukraine which has over 1 million casualties no one is talking about it but just because Israel is a Jewish country woke people are only condemning them , like war of Russia and Ukraine has big impact on economy but no one cares and the war between two small countries which doesn't have any economic impact is being protest for no reason?

I wish I could answer your question with all my heart. Unfortunately, no one really knows why it’s like this. We learn in the Torah though, that God asked us if we want to accept the Torah, even if it means that other nations will hate us. We accepted it and other nations hate us. But the truth is, we have not done anything wrong to deserve the hate. ☹️
