Hello Aaron and Mandy! We were planning on going traveling with our SUV tent but unfortunately it did not work for us. We now have a bell tent for traveling and sharing our adventures! Glad the SUV tent works for you guys and love your adventures! 💙Terry and Terri

Great video. Good job setting it up by yourself. Your wife is a great narrator and has a great voice.

Thank you so much for this vid. I tried to set up my 84000 for the first time in my backyard today, by myself, and partly because my yard is so tiny I couldn't really set up everything.. Also, my SUV was not present for the party... My biggest takeaway from this is that I need to start with the tent/hatch interface connected before trying to raise the tent. The other thing I learned here is that apparently the screen room can be unzipped from the main structure -- I didn't know that. Thanks again! My biggest challenge today was trying to get the taken-down tent to fit back in the bag. I finally gave up but will try again tomorrow...

Thank you so much for demonstrating how one person can put up this tent. i am considering getting into car camping and i love this idea!
@user-hz7kv6js6l3 жыл бұрын
This is the easiest 1 person set up i have seen so far. I think you nailed it by attaching the tents to your SUV first. Thank you for demonstrating this.

Was looking for reviews of this tent and found y'all. Just came here to say you're super freaking cute. Looks like you enjoy life to the fullest. Cheers from New Orleans!

Thank you Aaron and Melody for a demonstration so well described and detailed. I just purchased my tent and eager to use it next week..

Awesome. Just picked up myself a 'used just once' Napier tent same as yours. I was tempted to get the screened room also but was concerned that perhaps it may sometimes be in an awkward position for some campsites. I thank you for setting it up solo because that is what I like to do. I wish you would have put the awning up solo too just for demonstration. I will be putting mine on right away and am hoping the windows are big in it like the tents are. Thanks for the video.

Hi! Great video, thinking of getting one! How does it handle with heavy rainy day? Any water leaks in certain areas? Also what’s the size of the tarp you used? Thank you!
@Houseofhaha Жыл бұрын
We never had any leaks from heavy rain and storms, unless there was actual flooding and then we had seepage from below. We had this tent up over winter on the Oregon coast with plenty of wind and rain, and it survived to stand two years in the hot California sun. We definitely recommend it! Our tarp was 10' x 20'. Good luck in your future camping adventures!

Thanks a lot. Because of this video I now know how to set up my tent all by myself. I almost wanted to get rid of it, because I couldn’t.

I would always use a tarp under screen room. It would keep bugs in ground from crawling on you.

what if your car doesn't have a roof rack, how do you attach the back door cover..??

I really want something like this. This one specifically is wayyyy too big to store in my van (and a bit out of my budget😂)

We have the same tent and also love it!! So easy to set up and even clip off the car to drive away for the day.
@kmcca2043 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that comment. I’ve been curious about getting this tent but was concerned if your able to leave the tent up but disconnect it from SUV to drive around and explore during the day, then reattach tent to SUV when you get back to campsite. Is it easily doable? Or too much of a hassle (disconnecting/reconnecting)?

The best video on this tent set up I’ve seen. I just bought the newer Napier for my Honda Fit. It’s a little big for that car but was advertised to fit it. I’m 5’1” tall and it was impossible for me to get the collapsible poles up to form the dome and I camp alone. It would be great if someone would do a video with the newer Napier connecting it to a Honda Fit and getting the collapsible poles in the sleeves and tips to get it to stand up.

Rose did you end up being able to put up the tent by yourself. I;ve got a Honda Jazz (same as Fit).
@rken5633 жыл бұрын
Yes, I was, but not easy at all. I ended giving it away, too much work. I bought a Clam Screen shelter which I love.

I received the same tent. For some reason, it seems that I’m missing parts to the tent. I’m going to put it together to see how long it takes to do a one person set. I also want to see if the tent is complete. I like your idea of the tarp on the floor before you set up, it is very prudent. Thank you for sharing this important tutorial. Great producer too! Awesome vid!

Question please: Can this tent be easily used without the part that attaches to the SUV? I understand the porch part can be completely eliminated but is that the same with the SUV part? I ask because I can buy this tent (used) for less than $100 but I'm in a car and not wanting the porch and SUV part. Easy to eliminate both of those pieces? Thank you very much! OneFineMan40.....aol.

What is the size of the tarp you use. Good tips
@Houseofhaha4 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The blue tarp we use is 10'x20', and we fold it in half to be 10'x10'.

How often have you had to waterproof the Napier tent?

It depends if you go camping so often than once a year.

Hey there, I echo what others have shared, I now have real-world confirmation that the Napier tent can be set up solo. Thanks so much. BTW, I see that you're writing a book. I have a lot of fiction/nonfiction writers on my podcast. I would love to have you both come on as my guest. Let me know if this interests you.

Love the license plate! I miss camping and plan on getting that exact set up when I can afford to trade in my old car for a real SUV. Love camping in northern AZ since I was a kid in the 80's :)
