Bravo!!! you did an amazing job. First video I have seen that actually did not speed up and skip 100 steps . I have been holding off on buying this for my CRV as I am preparing to go Nomad for a bit but was concerned a woman my age (60s) would not be able to set it up alone . I am a hiker and very fit but only 5" 2 . You just proved it can be put up and it took only 30 mins with no directions . I have seen 2 person young take the same amount of time so .... WOW.. I would have to use the directions you obviously have set up your share of tents. I see this works with other vehicles as well not just SUVs.. cool,, Loved the video very helpful and I am sure you wanted sound , but really it wasn't needed.. THANKS

I love the screen room for extra space and that you can cover the screens. That will be a perfect spot for my night-time potty runs!

You did a good job putting the tent together! That’s great you can do it yourself. I’m going out by myself in a few days and I know I can do it now. Thanks for putting up the rain fly! Everybody always skips this part, and I think it can be the most confusing. Quick question, how are you tying the rain fly cords to the stake? Are you using a special knot?
@kimmanitt853611 ай бұрын
Thank you! I used a regular knot to tie the rainfly (double knot)

You did a great job setting up all by yourself. My husband and I have the same tent. I like to stake the 4 corners before lifting the tent . It adds stability.

That's a great idea!

We have this tent. Goes up so easy 🙂 Your dog is gorgeous. We also have a GP 🐕

Lower the hatch door, place the tent over it, then raise it back up.

Is it a grommet, or a ring with pin that you are inserting the bottom of the tent poles into?
@TOCNYS Жыл бұрын
you insert the poles into grommets

Thank you for making this video. I've been thinking about getting the same style tent for my Prius, and was wondering how it would work with a small hatchback. For the guy lines, have you considered adding foam insulation tubes onto each individual guy line to keep you from always tripping over them in the middle of the night?
@TOCNYS Жыл бұрын
I didn't think of that since I use my bars on my roof rack to attach the tent to. I use pool noodle for the gaps to make it completely bug proof
@maddirogers3893 Жыл бұрын
I'd be staking down the rear only just to stop it from taking off. Easy to remove when you need to just b4 you attach to the car!

fafage777: it was pretty bug proof during our camping trip in Lake George, NY Katherine Five Star Dealerships: I feel it was wroth the money Cameron Gracia: This was the first time setting up this tent without really reading the directions and if two people where doing it it would be faster

Happy 4th, my question is, where did you buy that tent? Amazon don't have that tent anymore. How much did you pay for it? thank you for putting it up by yourself. Because I'm single and I'm going to be doing it myself thank you.
@TOCNYS Жыл бұрын
My husband bought it on Amazon as my Christmas present. I think at the time it was $399

so much work, I see its not bug or rain proof

If you have a 3 or Y you can use a magnet to close the small gags (one on each side of the car) I pushed it and was able to close the small gag.

We had a downpour for 5 hours on our camping trip this year and it was pretty rain proof. Use pool noodles ) cut the length and a slit and insert the elastic into them and it's bug proof for an Model S

It’s a nice idea but too lightweight for me. I’m going for a Soringbar or Kodiak tent with an awning to which I can just back up my car. I can hang side panels off the awning for privacy. You did a good job putting the tent up. Also, my car has no way to turn off the warning lights for the hatch being open - I would have a dead battery in the morning. 😎

I think it is. I slept in the car with the trunk up to cool off the tent and my husband and dog slept in the tent part and were very comfortable with Camp Mode.
