I remember the George Lopez/Dora promo! I remember at one point during it Dora asks George the question she usually asks Boots and the viewer to summon Map and George replies “Oh, well that’s easy,” or something along those lines. Also the ending had George dancing against an orange background while a female announcer was talking. I thought about posting about the promo on the the r/lostmedia community on Reddit, but I was afraid that people would think that I was making it up or something, but I’m glad to know that I’m not alone in remembering this.

I remember seeing this. There was also a joke in the commercial that I specifically remember. Shortly after George Lopez tells Dora that he's lost and looking for his way back to Nick at Nite, Dora asks the fourth wall, "Who do we ask for help when we don't know which way to go?" and George Lopez says "Oh, that's easy. GPS or Global Positioning System."

The tvland ad sounds exactly like those jumpscare websites that were popular in the early 2000s. There were millions of them. Youd email them to your friends and it was always a quiet peaceful video with an innocent sounding name and then a stereotypical scary lady or monster or whatever would suddenly appear screaming. These were such a huge trend and (i thought) weren't obscure at all so im surprised more people havent caught on

@@killerkitten7534 I have to wonder if internet horror like that is part of what took me from scaredy-cat crybaby as a kid, to being a horror-loving thrillseeker as an adult. I specifically remember my first "screamer" was a video about this nerd lookin dude holding a beagle puppy like "oh my god you guys this puppy can talk!" and then he starts baby talking trying to coax it into talking- and it cuts to some 80s hair band or bad horror movie or something with this guy in makeup screaming at the camera super close up. I've never been able to find it, it's been at least 12 years since then and I still remember it super well. I don't even know if it was meant to be a screamer, or if it was intended to be funny and I just freaked out because it was so unexpected

For the Futurama screen, what I bet happened is the brother made it sound scarier than it really was, hence why it didnt bother tposeabovenicktoonz as much when she encountered it. I also want to add to this with two things : 1) Its possible that there was noise on the screen even if there usually wasnt if some data got garbled and thus corruption occurs. when this happens, garbage data is thrown around and can cause anything from sounds, messed up sprites, or even destroyed saves. in this case, if it did occur it didnt destroy your saves! also, the screen, if not the error from the video, may be in the code of either the futurama game OR the console, both of which could be looked through to find the original files! these error files all have to exist somewhere in the code to allow them to show, theyre usually a buffer to not let the game corrupt vital data

Oh I played that Yoshi game back in the day! It was really basic stuff, just consisting of gifs of the the baby Yoshis from the game that were like... 2 looping frames, haha. You fed the Yoshi different fruits and it had a happy flower meter like in the game, IIRC. I dooon't remember being able to ERASE your Yoshi, but if you didn't feed it enough, it would get taken away by Kamek's toadies, which I assume is what they meant. I'm not really sure how it would be brought back, though--it was just a really basic thing with very little to it. I'm sure someone with decent website knowledge could recreate the entire thing in an afternoon, which would be kinda nice, to be honest. It's a nice little piece of nostalgia. Also, I'm glad to hear you covering the Psychonauts golden disc mystery! It's been brought up a number of times in the Double Fine server and I'm interested in hearing more about that one. I hope one of the discs is found!
@aortaplatinum
@aortaplatinum Жыл бұрын
Psychonauts is already so expensive and hard to find for an XBOX/PS2 game due to demand, so even if as many copies weren't printed as something like GTA San Andreas or Halo 2 and our percent chance is slightly higher than we'd expect for 15 discs, they'd still be SUPER hard to find, not to mention kinda expensive to search for since Psychonauts has been at like $40+ for the past 10 years

When the whole "scary skull with weird noises" was mentioned in the futurama section, my mind inmediatly remembered a very cruel yet funny kind of easter egg: the hidden extras of pirate dvds. Here in latam, for the longest while (and probably still to this day) it was really common for dvd pirates to include "extras" aka bonus videos aside from the movie itself, which were usually weird and funny random videos from the web, but there was a chance the "extras" could actually be scary shit. One of the most infamous cases was an extra made by a pretty famous dvd pirate that was really scary and warned againts piracy (for some reason), and no it's not a creepypasta the short is well documented and was posted online, it exists. There's a lot of videos on the subject, but all of them are in spanish.

@@djungelskog2654 tbh most of the time the bonuses would be funny old animations, like the I Will Survive alien, the X Factor dancing animals (those were made for the colombian version of X Factor), and edited versions of movie dance scenes with popular music from the early 2010s. The horror clip that i mentioned was made by fat records, a very famous dvd pirate, which contains a screamer and several scenes from horror movies, despite this actually creepy content was rare and pirate dvd extras in general would be just weird videos found on the web that became viral in LATAM.

I have seen the GLopez and Dora promo! That just unlocked a core memory for me! I can't believe that I forgot about it for so long, yet I remember the promo almost vividly. It didn't air too often, but they aired it a handful of times. George is greenscreened into the world of Dora. He encounters Dora and Boots and asks them "Where am I?" Dora then responds "You're on Nick Jr.!" Then George says something along the lines of "I gotta get back to Nick@Nite! Do you know where to go?" Then Dora does the thing where she asks the viewer what to get when you don't know where to go, and George responds with something along the lines of "A map? A GPS?" Right after that, it cuts to a narrator promoting the George Lopez sitcom that was airing every night at Nick@Nite at the time. Then at the very end of the promo, Dora says something to the viewer, but I can't remember what she said exactly. This had to have been around the late 2000s, perhaps between 2007-2010.

Jump scare ad guy is 100% telling the truth I remember explicitly the ad he's talking about, there was context for it though, he was wrong about that, I remember the ad cutting from the screaming woman to like a black screen with text and rock music with a heartbeat sound effect or something and a narrator for whatever it was for. I cannot for the life of me remember what the ad was actually FOR which to me is an indicator of a terrible ad but I absolutely remember seeing it. If the original guy was from Houston too it might have been local for a haunted house or something but I don't know. Regardless I wanted to vindicate the guy, the commercial with the serene imagery of lakes and birds and stuff that ends on a screamer is totally real.

In the same vein of the Psychonauts golden discs promotion that remains unfound, blink-182 did the same thing with their 2003 Untitled album, in one CD copy of the album was a gold ticket that would have got the winner of it a free private concert from the band in their hometown. No one has ever found the ticket as far a I'm aware, though I remember the promotion only had 1 year to be claimed, so I do wonder if perhaps someone found it, but it was too late and so the masses were never made aware. Omg, I made the BK posts! To answer your question, I meant what he says changes and is always random (such as saying at least 3 times, “if two vegans fight, is it considered beef”?) For the animation, let’s take this one Simpsons BK commercial video (the one about 5 minutes) the shot at 3:36 is near my memory of the burger throwing version. That same video? at about 4:40, has the mascot just about as skinny (if not exactly) as from “Burgie”. The brightness is from a golden age cartoon (I think) on Internet Archive: “Man’s Best Friend”, staring “George Liquor American”. More specifically during the shot of the new pets sleeping in the fish tank, I didn’t check the time slot though. There also was no background, it was completely white except for the green screen, the mascot, the camera recording the scene (since the “director” wasn’t shown, I’d assume its the narrator), and the lines around the box (probably so people know he’s standing on something). I’m horrible at drawing so I’ll make a recreation, today or tomorrow, on how it looked like using PowerPoint, or updating the post with this extra animated detail for someone to recreate. Edit: I think LSSQ cracked a case for me; I don’t remember the mascot and narrator having a conversation, but I always remembered short cuts of black happening each time the narrator talked. Having it actually be them having a conversation that I didn’t remember seems likely.

the jumpscare ad reminded me of something i saw as a kid, though not quite so spooky of a setup. it was about midday, i was with my parents, and i wasn't really traumatized, just bewildered and slightly unsettled. we were watching animal planet and once one of the normal commercials ended it stayed black and silent for a pretty long time, we were starting to think the channel had gone out. then suddenly a creepy clown image flashed onto the screen and a distorted laugh mixed with what sounded like either grinding metal or a really poor audio scream blared through the speakers, it lasted a few secs and was promptly followed by a normal ad(car dealership commercial i think) all three of us just about jumped out of our skin at first but once the initial startle had settled we were just kinda scratching our heads. it wasnt even a really disturbing clown, just a clipart looking png of a generic "evil clown" with no bg, just a black screen behind it. we wondered if it was part of the car ad to maybe get attention, but that still didnt explain the unusually long pause between the ads or why the car ad didnt seem to acknowledge it at all and wasnt spooky itself. i had a short "what the fuck was that" moment but quickly forgot about it, and just like this person's account the ad was never seen again by anyone in my family.

I'm amazed by how well people remembered the George Lopez Dora ad, and that so many have been searching for it. To me, it was just an old commercial, and I wouldn't have realized it was lost had this video not been released. Thank you so much for making these Lost Media videos, because I'm sure a lot of stuff would remain lost otherwise. And to those who are currently searching, I wish you luck! Thank you.

I dont think the jumpscare guy or the futurama ps2 story are fabricating but probably misremembering it and making it seem more scary than it actually was. Like most lost media stories similar to this, it always ends up being less scary than described usually due to seeing it as a child and losing the memory over time. I know this happened to me a couple times with the heart she holler jumpscare ads on adult swim being a lot tamer than i remember. I also thought a commercial for wine coolers featured a really disfigured zombie woman at the end for years until I found the commercial later on and it turned out to just be a man in drag...

Holy shit that last line lol Yeah, the mysterious nature of lost media, plus a lot of it only being experienced during childhood, makes it feel scarier and more creepy than it actually was. While I can't say for certain what the exact jumpscare commercial they're talking about is, I was reminded of an ad for Six Flags Fright Fest. That ad starts with an overhead shot of a couple floating in a pool on some inflatable mats, and after a few seconds, a woman dressed as a zombie popped up from the bottom of the screen and screamed. I don't know if that's what they saw considering they didn't mention the pool couple at all, but memories can be warped a lot and be vastly different from the real thing, as seen with the Clockman search.

If there was an error screen with a skull it should be found in the game files, or in whatever files the PlayStation has. The beauty about video game data is that they are stored on the disc, so if you have the game and the error is real it has to be on the disc

The futurama skull situation reminds me of something that happened to me when playing Stuart Little 2 on PS1. I didn't take care of my discs so the FMVs would skip constantly. I remember one day when I started the game the magenta software logo started skipping so much that it froze and a random voice clip of a woman (or a character?) started playing. It startled me so much that I skipped it. I have no idea what I heard and it's not exactly creepy but it sticks in my mind as I've never figured out what it was after all these years. Part of me wonders if it started reading data from the wrong FMV, or if they had a special voice clip for when it can't read the data.

I've been looking for a piece of media for a while now. I can't seem to find it anywhere and most of our VHS tapes are gone, so I feel like I'm at a loss. I'm not certain if it's lost media, but I can't find anything on it at all, even going through tons of obscure VHS videos. (So many videos) We had a lot of Looney Tunes VHS tapes when I was younger and a lot of times there was a bumper reminding you to rewind. My memory is fuzzy because it was about a decade ago, but I do remember that there were a lot of rewind symbols flying across the screen, all containing different video clips. It was mostly warm colors from what I remember, and for some reason the kind of music that play kinda reminds me of the old goosebumps theme song (that part might just be my brain trying to fill in blanks though). It's been two years of searching on and off. I know there are a lot of comments on here so you might not see this, but I thought I'd give it a shot. Thanks if you read this by the way.

Idk if anyone outside the US remembers this, but there was this 2003 ad/promo for a Cartoon Network event on TV that was showcased as some kind of awards show where you can vote online for which show to win or something like that, and one of the things that stood out to me was this Justin Timberlake song featured in it (at least I think it was by him, but I also remember hearing what I assume was Pharell on the song too), and I remember hearing the song elsewhere, but I just can’t find it nowadays. From what I can remember seeing in that ad was all the Cartoon Network characters of that time getting ready for this award show (like some characters were showering, others getting dressed, and others coming out of a limo, but most of those images were static from what I can recall, so no movement and that aforementioned song playing during the whole thing, whilst a narrator explained the event). I don’t remember what the name of the event was, but something like this never occurred ever again. Also, I think this aired some time in Spring/Summer. Also, here’s some other ads I remember seeing when I was a kid: -A Domino’s Pizza ad featuring Scooby-Doo characters. -A KFC ad for Hanna-Barbera character finger puppets (I found one of the toys on ebay, and packaging material for it). -Some kind of ad for Disney!Tarzan-themed stationery/toys. I’m not sure what it was, but it looked very interesting to me at the time and I think the ad even featured Tarzan-themed juice boxes(?).

The Dora/George Lopez one is real. I saw it multiple times. It aired sometime in 2008-2009. It should be found soon enough. it aired enough for someone to have caught it on a recording I'm sure. As for the skull one, I think that was probably it, and the weird noises came from a glitch where random sounds that were loaded played from the disc. I think something similar happens in SpongeBob Battle for Bikini Bottom where random noises would play in a row on the pause menu if the PS2 skipped.

The Futurama story reminds me that I have a somewhat of a video game error lost media story myself. In the original version of Sonic Adventure 2 for the Dreamcast, I once encountered an issue where I couldn't place a Chao into my VMU because the slot was occupied by a Chao named "DUMMY". So, I took it out and tried again... only to learn that DUMMY had reappeared in the same slot. It would regenerate itself infinitely, and occasionally would be a silver Chao with the same name. I have someone else to back me up on this, too, because I had called them into the room to help me figure out what was going on and neither of us could figure out what was going on or how to make it stop. There was, and still is, no information online about this, which isn't too surprising because there isn't much documentation about the Dreamcast Chao systems. There is, however, one mention of a Chao named "DUMMY" occasionally appearing on Chao Island, and it's related to transferring over a bugged Chao from SA1 to SA2, which makes me think the "DUMMY" may be used as a sort of checksum error check similar to Bad Egg in the Pokemon series. It's possible I had some form of memory card corruption on my VMU which is why it's not something that is documented well, as it may have been a very specific set of circumstances.

The jump scare commercial just sounds identical to the jump scare commercial you showed clips from. If it's not totally fake, I think that person was just thinking of that commercial you were showing, maybe combined it with other screamer videos in the way that our memories get messed up over time. I mean I had a pretty vivid memory of being on a ship at Niagara Falls, only for it to turn out I was never on a ship. I SAW one but I wasn't ON one even though my memory was of being on the ship. So I don't believe that guy looking for the commercial is looking for some real commercial that exists, I think we've already found the commercial he's just misremembering it.

Here's a more recent one for you. Sometime, last year, Nickelodeon had aired ads for "Monster High: The Movie". These ads would play just before a show would cut to commercial break and would air with a special transition effect(some of these are on KZbin, already). Anyway, the one I'm particularly referring to is one that played with the Spongebob episode "Club Spongebob". The episode cut to the ad right as Squidward said "All hail the magic conch!". It's not a big one, but I thought it was pretty hilarious, seeing the scene with the lightning effects imposed over the scene. Unfortunately, I don't have a recording of it.

I'm glad to find out that both the Osbourne family dubbing over clips from the Nick Jr. show Oswald as a parody commercial to promote the cartoon, and the Dora The Explorer, and George Lopez TV show crossover commercials have been confirmed to exist! Now we just need to find said commercials. I hope we can find more evidence of that Virtual Pet Yoshi flash game's existence as I've no doubt probably would've enjoyed it given how much I loved Yoshi Story back in the day (I'm kinda split on it nowadays myself personally)! I'm not 100% sure about the random jump scare commercial being real myself either, but hopefully we'll get some more confirmation about whether, or not it is real. It's great that the limited edition 24 karat gold Game Boy Advance SP was confirmed to be legit! Now let's hope we can find the golden disc version of the first Psychonauts too as I've really been interested in trying out the games lately especially with the recent release of the long-awaited sequel, Psychonauts 2 really inspiring me to do so from the series' unique art style, great characters, one of a kind soundtrack, and interesting gameplay! Given how many crazy shenanigans the Burger King mascot has been in from one of his many commercials, I wouldn't be too surprised of there existing a 2D animated one too besides The Simpsons one! Maybe sometime in the future we'll get confirmation if there were other versions of the skull disc error screen from the 2003 PlayStation 2 Futurama that matches the one that Tpose remembered. Another solid lost media video, LSSQ! :D Look forward to the next video!

Hello everyone. I’m an amateur lost media searcher and since this is a lost media video I think this could be a good place to comment about this. I usually search for lost media that someone else remembers but this one is something my mom remembers, which is an episode of a talk show from maybe 1990-1995? (estimate). Well, in this episode a chef of Indian descent who she describes as almost bald with a round face and body, comes on and cooks a veggie burger made of chickpeas and potato. His name could have been Babu or something like that, but that isn’t confirmed. However what makes this so weird is that Al Pacino could have been there as well? She remembers the man being introduced as Al’s personal chef, and Al says something like “He cooks for me all the time!” Or, the chef just mentions cooking for Al at some point and he is not actually there. But likely the former. I can’t find any trace of this or anything similar online which is weird because it’s Al Pacino. She also said she’s 100% sure it was Al and not someone else. I tried for Robert De Niro and also Sylvester Stallone but couldn’t find anything. I’m so so sorry if this is really off topic or a bad place to put this, I don’t have a LMW account but I might make one to post this on. Again I’m really sorry, but if anyone is willing to help that would be amazing.

I remember playing that html Yoshi game when it was current. I remember using AOL and actually trying to find a virtual pet as I was a big fan of Tamagotchi and GigaPets. I think I visited Nintendo's page one day and it was promoting Yoshi's Story for Nintendo 64 with raising your own Yoshi (there's also a chance I could have read about it in Nintendo Power). You were able to choose what color the egg/Yoshi was (and could unlock black and white by coming across the eggs on the site) and like the game, it had a mood meter but also a hunger meter; you'd feed it different fruits (or a pepper) with it's mood increasing more if it ate a favorite fruit vs anything else. To keep it's mood consistently happy, you'd have to visit the page every day otherwise Yoshi would get really sad and run away. I believe there was a simple mini game or two you could also play with the Yoshi like guessing higher or lower than the number Yoshi was saying. I might be wrong on that one though and apologize if so. I hope this helps and if anyone else has anything to add, feel free to do so.

the george lopaz one i remember had the purple background with the orange nick at night logo that kinda resembled the nick splat. the background was purple as i said and it showed pictures in a stop motion of george lopaz dancing. the ad also gave the time of when to watch the george lopaz show

Hey LSuperSonicQ here’s a lost media that will interest you, remember Edgar and Ellen tv series, it has 6 specials and only two were found “Trick or Twins” and “Cold Medalists” but the other 4 “Accept No Subtitutes”, “Crushed”, “Frog Days of Summer” and “Nobody’s Fools”. While “Crushed” and “Nobody’s Fools” are found via recording I wanted to see the high quality version of these special if Bardel Entertainment has the specials
