She is eating iyan (,pounded yam) which is a popular Nigerian dish. It's alternative popular name is fufu. Fufu/fufuo is an Akan word derived from a word meaning soft. Nowadays fufu is used to describe many similar African dishes. That is a great thing. Instead of squabbling over trivial matters let us revel in the sharing of ideas and our wonderful cuisine that brings us together Someone as far afield as in Australia is trying 'fufu' and look at the smile after she tastes it Let us appreciate and enjoy the moment instead of debating over unimportant differences of opinion

Pounded yam is Nigerian not Ghanaian. In Ghana our fufu is made from plantain and cassava and is eaten with soups not stews (like egusi for example) a few similarities possibly, but very distinct.

Please as a Nigerian Biko, mbok Ejiro Fufu is cassava pounded Yam is Yam that is Pounded and Garri is cassage flakes and some cultures in Nigeria also prefer their Garri pounded but it’s still just Garri please I’ll appreciate it I also know my fellow Nigerians will if this isn’t confused or mistaken. Hmmm imma be honest. I don't think that is fufu. Especially since fufu is made from Cassava. Iyan is made from pounded yam and I believe that's what you are eating. The two taste very different

When I saw this, it kind of reminds me of the other food I had Ethiopian food is definitely like this. You take your sponge bread they give you at the restaurant and then you grab your other food with your sponge bread and it is so good this food remind me of it and it looks so good. I also love watching your KZbin channel. All the other food you eat looks so good and it’s really cool to watch your videos. I’m a big fan.❤

Pounded yam, which is what she is eating, is purely Nigerian. Fufu is not a generic name. Fufu specifically refers to a dough made from cassava. Not all y'all calling everything fufu😂

I have this every single time at home and it’s like the best. There’s different types of soups you can have fufu with and I definitely recommend you to try this. It’s really good and if you go to Ghana, they’re fresh ones are amazing.❤❤❤ hope this helps😊😊

Am your biggest fan and am also a half Ghanaian half Nigerian and I just wanted to tell u that it's called"Pounded yam" fufu is a different food made from cassava and plantain and it is also somehow yellowish in colour. Thanks for everything

@user-jk1sl2yz5c I never said it isn't west African but to say that it is only west African is simply just wrong cause you can like I said find it in nearly all parts of Africa. I myself am central African and we also have fufu and I have a lot of friends who are from other parts of Africa (other than western parts) and they all told me that they also have. The difference is the kind of flour that is used.

Yes, I did! when I was back in high school, we celebrated African American Day and I loved Fufu. But we didn't have stew sadly to try with fufu 😢

Fufu isn't necessarily pounded yam. Pounded yam is an entirely different dish (which looks just like fufu). Some call it fufu. But fufu is originally made from pounded cassava. Fun fact: Pounded yam is a much more elite dish than fufu in Nigeria and West Africa.
