Chanel Reissue & M/L Classic Flap: Review & Comparison

I've received many requests to review and compare my Chanel Reissue to the Chanel M/L Classic flap so here goes - hope you enjoy!

I just bought this same Reissue and am so glad that you did this video while I wait for her to arrive. I bought her because the 226 size is in between the Jumbo and the M/L. The Jumbo in the past, was the same as you, too big and heavy for me. I'm so excited. Your sunnies look so cute on you! Thanks for this great video!

I am sooooo glad you did this comparison I've been wondering what the differences were besides the obvious chains and the turn lock they say the madam Moselle lock has to do with the fact that coco Chanel never married and Karl designed the CC logo which is the one most people know I have spoken to so many luxury lovers who don't know of the reissue bag and I found that so strange because the reissue if I remember correctly was the first of my aunts chanel collection that I remember seeing ,great review both great bags ! 👌👌

Great video. The reissue is beautiful. I wanted to please find out if it is normal to see the stitching on the inside of the reissue bag. This is the area if the bag pocket where the two flaps are attached at the base.

Malaika Rrr thank you. And yes, the reissue has a stitch like the classic flaps where the flaps attach.

Great comparison! The reissue medium will be my next purchase but I am looking pre-owned and I'm looking for it in the light gold Hardware! Do you have any recommendations for such a search?

Purselady25 yes mine is the medium or the 226 which is between the M/L and jumbo - great everyday size. It’s truly a great bag and I hope you will share pics! :)

Roz 2016 if I could only have one, it would be the classic flap M/L for sure. It’s just so elegant.

Hi. Your medium reissue is size 227 or 226? I only have 1 reissue size 226 which does look slightly smaller than yours but I can’t be too sure.

Hi- The reissue is bag I most want buy. I have two questions...on the Chanel site they show a reissue called Large and one that does not say any size. Is that the medium? Did you buy yours pre-loved?

litsa I did get mine preloved and I believe the bag comes in 4 sizes (mini, small, medium and large) so you would definitely need to ask a sales associate if buying new.

Where did you purchase your Reissue? I have the same in gold hardware that I bought new, but mine is made in Italy, Would love to look at pre-owned.

CapeCodBelle I got mine from tradesy but did notice that most of the older ones are made in France - like the jumbos, it seems like newer ones are all made in Italy, which I would be okay with either way.

Thanks for this comparison!! I am very petite also and feel that the Jumbo is too big for me. I have the Chanel M/L and have been thinking about adding the Reissue into my collection. Do you have the Reissue 225 or 226? I think yours is the perfect Goldilocks size :)

Hi Laura, How are the wear and tear of this reissue bag as compared to your classic flap? I am researching for my first chanel bag but abit torn between the reissue and the classic flap. I am wondering whether the leather on the reissue is easy to maintain or as carefree as the caviar leather option for the classic flap.

N P the reissue is definitely a more durable leather, but it's also a softer bag so it loses shape easier than a classic flap.

Hi - so interested in the reissue that I have been watching all the reviews and have watched yours several times and I think it is the best. I almost bought the so black chevron before Xmas but liked the quilted one like yours better plus the black chain really did’t show it off. I am looking for one with gold. Like you I bought the jumbo (seems like every you tuber’s holy grail bag) and sold it - too heavy,too long and just not for me. I am 5”4 and hope to wear it cross body and single chain. As you have had yours for a while now have you found if you wear it this way that the chain laying on the bag shows wear on the top of the bag??? Over all is it still holding up and not losing its shape?? Thanks - as I hope to purchase soon.

Jbv65 I hate to have to tell you this but I actually just sold my Reissue. I found the size a little too big and didn’t end up using most of the fall and winter so I decided to sell for something else I think I will use more. I would still recommend the bag as an alternative to the Jumbo but be aware that it is much softer and less structured. If that’s what you’re looking for then I would say go for it. Timeless classic bag - just not for me.

Purselady25 i do still love it and it wears very well, especially with the aged leather - very durable, though not as luxurious as lambskin. Great bag for every day.
