When signing 1812 pre-sold copies of my book The Backyard Adventurer, I decided to have a backyard adventure while doing it. Synergy? Ironic? Nah, just a bloody good idea, Beau. Nothing fancy or weird, just public transport, my wifes bike, and a bad coffee in a dry creek bed. It turns out, signing that many books in six hours is hard.

9:33 the missing lines 10:03 That part by the way gave me the biggest smile and I think it's really good that the missing lines get told here in the video instead of the book and that they have to be written by the reader. It's somewhat a full circle including the viewer into the journey.

As one of the lucky 1812 who received a signed book, judging by the signature I'd got I think it was somewhere in the first few hours mark of your signing session. Blue pen, a simple "Thanks! Beau Miles" without any drawings created out of the boredom that can come from repetition. I love to think about the autonomous movement of the hands and mind as you wrote out the simple messages, one after another- after another. Love it. Thanks Beau!

I've lived in north east Victoria for most of my life and been all over the world and hardly seen what my area has to offer. In the last 5 years though I have done so many backyard adventures like kayaking an entire river and seeing things for the first time that are 5 minutes from where I live and I love it! Thanks the the inspiration Beau.

Just wanted to say that I just finished the audiobook. Even though I've seen all of your films, listening to your book during my morning walks in solitude was a fantastic experience. The storytelling is out of this world. Lost my passion for filmmaking and writing but because of your amazing storytelling I picked up my pen and notebook again today. Thanks Beau, all the best to you and your family.

Congrats on the book Beau! Probably all of the people that bought these books you signed you know via youtube, I find it the epiphany of "you", that you use this platform to correct the mistake. Not only that, it gives it an extra dimension to have people add the lines (in their own handwriting) to complete the book! I applaud you for what you do!

Just bought the kindle edition. I also appreciate hands the most. They are absurdly beautiful and useful. I also strongly agree that adventure in your homeland could be the best adventure. I live in Canada and the same adventure can be done 4 times a year with wildly different results just by using the seasons for difference. You are an inspiration for travel outside your door. I am not an educated person like yourself but I love to rob your ideas to make my life a more exciting event than it was.

Beau, you are a true inspiration in the ways in which I intend to live my life by the time I'm thirty (or something in between). I'm a young guy traveling the world that has yet to fully understand the repercussions of what it is to combine that everyday living with a well-saturated understanding of the big wide world around me. At age 22, you inspire me to go out on the craziest adventures I can possibly think of, while still having some overview of what is to come next. I am enjoying your videos because you feel like you are a guy that was able to break through the mundane, while still dealing with it on a daily basis in a child-like sense of exploration. Against all the turmoil being thrown at me from all the people that have a certain saying in my life, I still choose to go out to Sri Lanka by the end of the year, after a long time of full-time employment at an exciting, yet mundane job. You are the reason I have to keep going, keep making videos man, because they certainly do have an impact, at least on me. Cheers, A simple enjoyed of your content
