Even sadder that most people can be that happy, if they stopped actively self-sabotaging. Step 1: stop being envious and consequently bitter about people who have more than you or are more accomplished than you. That is, from what I can see, one of the biggest causes of unnecessary and self-inflicted misery. Amplified greatly by social media. It accomplishes nothing except making you unhappy.

I always talked to myself as a kid. My parents made me feel like there was something wrong with me and my mom told me it was scaring her so I had to learn to internalize my conversations. I only feel comfortable doing it while alone or in my car. It's really comforting to see someone as confident and successful as you to know that I'm not crazy.
@sarahstrong71742 жыл бұрын
Actually it is supposed to be good for your mental health to talk to yourself. Plus being perfectly normal. I had a conversation about it with my friends. They all talk to themselves. I use it to organise myself. "Well what I am going to do is x & then I am going to do y. Oh, no actually I will do z." When I have completed tasks I tell myself 'well done'. 'That's got that job finshed'. I don't get a lot of acknowledgement from others so I give it to myself..

Hey Beau, Hope you, your wife and your sweet daughter are all right there down under. When I first found your channel and the videos I so quickly felt connected with you because of the joy you seem to feel about running. In another one of your videos you talked a little more about your thought processes when running and that everything just slows down and it kind of is close to a meditational phase. I was just sitting there hearing that and was like, "Yes! Yes exactly! Someone else understands!" (maybe it was in the beans one or the Trials of Miles video). Keep staying so positive and down to earth as you seem to be. Best wishes!

You probably won't see my comment, but your description of your headspace when you run is the way my brain works/ed when I walk. From my teens (I'm 57) walking long distances was my escape. I don't consider the distance, nor anything else. I just walk. And I'm free. Not too long ago I was averaging 15 kilometres a day. I know that's not huge, but it worked for me. I had to balance walking with working and home. If given the choice, I'd just keep walking.
