Yes, that is very true. I am related to people who were decent, loving individuals until they became sjws in college and now anyone who hasn’t received the same indoctrination is worse than garbage to them. I was actually referring to training the animals so they know what to expect and how to react appropriately. My Dad told me that animals, especially dogs, crave a strong but kind leader. Very true that given certain circumstances, any creature can snap, but I think it’s less likely when one is given tools to deal with stressful circumstances.

@oldageisdumb every single day dogs and cats, and farm animals, are killed by pitbulls. I'm in many support groups because I've seen them attack many times, unprovoked. If plaintiff is within feet of the exit with her 11pound dog on a leash and a pitbull, as pitbulls do, tears free of its leash and runs over and grabs plaintiffs dog by the throat, as pitbulls always do, defendant should've had to pay the vet bill.

@jacksyoutubechannel4045
@jacksyoutubechannel4045 2 жыл бұрын
I really appreciate that you're cognizant of this. There's a weird tendency I'm sure you're familiar with to treat the breed of pitbull like it's some race of human being. Once we do that, we can say things like "shepherds naturally start shepherding," but can't say, "pitbulls were historically bred with traits that can be dangerous," which makes it impossible to discuss risks and safety. It becomes frustrating to hear, "Well, we all assume the risk when we go to a dog park," because I think most people know that owning a pitbull is assuming an additional level of risk to owning a pug. Even if a pug _were_ more likely to bite, that pitbull combination of strength and "gameness" (persistence in fighting/attacking through pain and injury) make any bite more consequential. So any time a pitbull comes to a dog park, or is walked around a neighborhood without a leash, the owner has forced everyone _else_ to assume _their_ risk. It's commendable that you take that into account.

The plaintiff lied about having her dog on a leash and that's why she lost. BOTH dogs were off leash. We only see a portion of these cases when aired and these cases are reviewed beforehand so I'm pretty sure there were other reasons why Judge Milian ruled the way she did.
@mysinusesrkillingme3975
@mysinusesrkillingme3975 2 жыл бұрын
She explained why she ruled that way and it didn't have to do with leashes. It's an assumed risk at a dog park and unless the aggressor's owner is negligent, it's nobody's fault. This just applies in the park, though. Out on the street there is a leash law.
@reekah21
@reekah21 2 жыл бұрын
@@mysinusesrkillingme3975 yes I'm aware and your point is exactly mine although expressed differently which is ok 🤷🏾‍♀️. The lady tried to lie saying her dog was on a leash to make it seem as if the pitbull was the aggressor and that dog's owner was somehow negligent. But she lied, BOTH dogs were off leash (becauseof the obvious.... it's a dog park 🤷🏾‍♀️), her dog was the aggressor and she was negligent by being on her cellphone. And like I said, the case is reviewed beforehand so the judge is aware of many things that sometimes aren't aired. The intro mentioned a little dog and big dog side of the park, I didn't hear them discuss that fact 🤷🏾‍♀️.

@@reekah21 there was definitely a discrepancy over the leash/no leash issue, but I was just pointing out that it had nothing to do with the judge's decision. I agree about the big dog/small dog part. If there are sections separating the 2, people should be responsible and keep their dogs in the correct areas. Not abiding by that rule could mean life or death for your pet. Very irresponsible of that owner and should have been pointed out imo.

Certain dogs should NOT be allowed in dog parks, because it seems the owners do not want to accept that they have a vicious dog, so you can't trust anyone. Dog parks are dangerous, you do NOT need to socialize your dog by introducing it to unknown dogs, that's just stupidity beyond belief...

It's not the dogs it's the owners. Trained dogs and owners don't have this problem, there's a pit bull that I love to introduce to my clients and he particularly loves a beagle I take care of. This exact case is why I’m always on high alert at the dog park. I never take my eyes off of my dog when I have gone and I could tell other owners would get annoyed with me when I would see the dogs start playing rough and I would yell “ COME GET YOUR DOG”. I actually stopped taking my dog to the park in fear of something like this happening because I watch too many court shows 😂. I tell my sister all the time that If your dog gets into a fight at the park, guarantee the person will try and sue. We’ve all seen how these cases play out. Better safe not going at all.

You should always be on alert at the dog park especially now with the increase in dog crimes. Just last week a dog gang, one pug, one chihuahua and two yorkies were busted for theft at my local dog park. The yorkies would distract people with their cuteness while the other two would steal cellphones and money from purses. The owners of these dogs didn't know anything about their criminal activity. In this case the pug has a two page rap sheet. I hear the police are putting undercover police K9's in these parks to infiltrate the dog gangs. 😂

But honestly, think about this: Some creep from the Internet could look up your name if it were broadcasted and harass you in other ways (socials, looking up your address, etc), and imagine if they were a major criminal, such as a rapist or murderer. Would you really want your personal info showcased for all creepy people to hear and further look up, and then maybe try to actually access you? Or even the non-creepy people to just randomly show up in your socials or calling you? Idk, I wouldn't want that...And I don't even use any socials!

Sorry for your loss. I had a client with a Cocker Spaniel that was dog/cat aggressive because the owner never exercised it. I rollerbladed while it ran to drain it's energy and dominated it with leash corrections. I brought it into the dog park and it made friends with other dogs immediately. It never attacked her cats again. The owner learned to exercise it to drain it's energy, put it on a leash to submissively sit right next to her cats and not even look at them. The cats became dominant over her which is what we want.

@oldageisdumb

Here is what no one is talking about, but is what I think is one of the key points for the defendant. If you take your small dog into the big dog section YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHTS IF THERE IS AN INCIDENT! There is a reason there are two separate sections because some big dogs see small dogs as prey. Big dog owners have a right to go to the dog park and not have to encounter small dogs. Just like there is usually a rule about no children under 10 because so,e dogs aren’t good with kids.

Dogs need to be socialized. To PREVENT THIS. If your dog doesn’t know how to be a “dog” around other dogs (as in safe distance, how to introduce, how to read body language, how to share etc) this CAUSES bites, from fear, from aggression, anxiety, etc If you can’t trust dog parks definitely find another way. They need to learn. Especially small aggressive territorial breeds because their injuries received are ALWAYS worse THAN Given.

What kind of idiot takes an oversized APBT to a dog park?! They are bred to be aggressive toward other dogs. Some can go to dog parks until about 6-9 months old, but after that the innate dog aggression kicks in. They also have over the top prey drive. Big dogs often are triggered into prey drive by very small dogs. That is why we have separate big dog areas and little dog areas. A pit bull's jaws do not lock. Their jaws are anatomically like any other dog's jaws. The difference is their desire to hang on and shake with determination. They will definitely release a hold in a fight in order to grab a better one. You DO take a risk taking any dog to a dog park.
