Not really. Growing up I had a friend who grew up to be a complete slob to the point it was hard to walk into her apartment from the shear amount of garbage on the floor. Her mother always kept her house spotless. So sometimes its not "like mother like daughter". What I think happened its either the mother coddled the daughter and did everything for her including picking up after her (as my friend mother did) or she was dirty and taught her to be dirty.

Not necessarily. From what I know they usually interview the whole family at the same time. If the parents work opposite work schedules and communication is off, then it is completely plausible that they just couldn't get everyone together to do the home interview. Besides, CPS can't take children based on dirty dishes and clothes on the floor. They have to have a doctor or law enforcement call them to take the kids. Cockroaches are a common intercity problem, no matter how clean you are, so that is no indication of dirtiness. It's like mice in forested areas, they need a place to live with food nearby. Doesn't mean the home isn't clean, just that nature likes you extra specially. Five days for photos makes sense as well, especially based on what they said and how they interact. If the grandma said she would help. she should have. I have been in that situation, and I have seen the results of that. I let my mother live with me rent free to watch the kids (two girls) while I worked. I ended up losing my job because she would show up to my job with them and claim she just couldn't do it. She would berate my managers about my work schedule, made my date pay her the one time I went out without the kids, and told me to keep him because he knows the rules(?). She was living rent free with all her belongings in my home, I barely had any of my stuff, then she threw it all out when I moved out and destroyed our written agreement about my things being stored in the basement room until I got a truck to move everything. I had collectables and things of sentimental value down there, and she couldn't get down the stairs anyways. So I sympathize with the daughter and son in law, but I think that charging 650 for rent and cable is a bit excessive on top of childcare and helping around the house.

@Creed Bratton Sorry if I presumed and insulted you! Yup. Wigs. And lots of his guests do it, but I couldn't tell you why. I surmise they believe they are in some disguise, lol. Without making excuses for the daughter and her husband...the irony of this is that if grandma was dissatisified with how the housework and raising the kids was done by her daughter (even though Grandma was supposed to help out...wich in itself shows her miserable character), then that's a direct reflection of how she raised her daughter. This is what many parents of grown kids don't understand, you can't write checks you can't cash because you never invested propperly in the first place. 🤷♀️ That's just not how that works. Don't raise your kids as goldfish then be shocked when they fail to walk on land. Lol.

Bro, if the cat left that means it was really bad in the house! Cats like to "hunt" around, but if it loves you and feels safe with you, it will come back. I've raised 16 throughout my teen years and into adulthood ...I'm a cat person, big time. This poor cat is better off out with someon better! And so are the kids, apparently..🤨
