Great tutorial! I just came into some ball chain in a destash of supplies and I have never worked with it before to finish off the ends. I like this method better than the traditional ball chain connector. Thanks!

The cutters look exactly like my Tronex razor flush cutters. It looks to me like Softflex just re-branded them with their name. The Tronex razor flush cutters are about half the price of the Softflex re-branded ones. Just goes to show that the price Softflex had to pay to re-brand those cutters is passed along to the consumer. I would suggest looking into the Tronex - there is no difference in appearance except for the name printed on the handle.

I love this, I'm all about mixing my metal colors. Some people are not into the mixes and tend to shy away from my pieces. I guess it's an artsy thing. Great video Kellie. Wonderful video! Thank you so much. I am an amateur jeweler, and I went to go buy chain, but liked the look of the ball chain and bought it instead. But when I got home I realized I had no way to attach any jump rings to ball chain. So you solved a heck of a problem for me today. Are there any other ways to resolve ball chain ends? My only thought was to tightly wrap wire around the thin portion before the end.

Thanks! Other than those horrible little connectors that look like they belong on your bathtub I can’t think of another way. If I had no other choice I would probably wire wrap the end somehow.

Kellie, I love your philosophy about laughing...so true. Now, please tell me if this cord end will work on regular beading wire with a crimp bead. Finding endings in copper has been a challenge and crimp covers in copper...like 3 mm. I just ordered with you and have not yet gotten order, but those endings were for leather. So any help would be appreciated.

Hi Nadine. I don’t think so. It’s meant to cover knots but it works with the ball chain as they give it something to grip on.

I love ball chain! But it is useless without a clasp. And it's true that the one that comes with a chain is flimsy. When I was a kid a ball chain for our latchkey was a sign that our parents loved us. The rest used a piece of string.
