Great to hear such an improvement coming about ...we are all honours now! But I do hope my doctor understands Bayes theorem and that my consultant is not there because of grade inflation or gender balance.

The points have certainly been inflated over the years - I got around 20 points in total, over thirty years ago, when an A at Honours level was only worth 5 points!

Every University should have their own entrance exams. It is the only way to differentiate the talented students from the rest. The Leaving Cert is not designed to make pupils feel better about themselves.

I knew it wasn't my imagination that tests were getting easier. Maybe we need a lesson from the GaoKao in China

Students..?.. They have yet to present a qualification to reassure they are toilet trained or will get out of the bath to take a pish !..as any Rag Week will confirm.
