I’m REALLY liking that pin gaff man, dat buggah is deadly. Plus that tiger stalking your boat, that’s nuts. Thank you for sharing as always!!!

Oh yeah the kage is tried and true! Only cost like 25 bucks in materials to make too. We lucky those Tigers are usually super mellow

Shea, you went savage there as you positioned your Kage to Go Full Old Man and the Sea to play hard ball with that freaking hefty Tiger shark! I have yet to see one of those out there, but know I will. Been catching some Mahi's on live Akule. No Ono or Tuna in my fish bag yet, but I am grateful for the Mahi-Mahis.

Tiny spear but better than nothing just in case 😂 Theres a big one outside Kawaihae all the time I've seen it a few times this year already. At least the mahis biting! I like them the best but not many out this side

Aloha, enjoying your videos! Can I ask a question about your gear? I see you’re using the 8500 live liner and the mxl, why two different setups? Using them for specific scenarios, or? If you were to do it again would you buy two of the same, and if so which? Getting ready to set up a 14’ rib and don’t have any fishing gear any more. Really appreciate it and learning a lot from you, mahalo!
@AffordableWahoo Жыл бұрын
Hey thanks! I use the MXL for the line capacity of a conventional reel and the low gear. It can be used for both pelagic fishing and for deep sea bottom fishing. The spinner is dedicated to pelagic fishing and is easier to cast and don't need to worry about birds nest tangles. Best of luck on the new boat!

@@AffordableWahoo thanks so much! Appreciate the info. I’m torn on what to get. Seems like the kayak style suits our little future boat well though. Any there any good Hawaii technique and equipment specific websites or resources out there you’d suggest? Happy to put in the time to learn, but would like to avoid wasting money on the wrong gear if possible. Mahalo!

Does it ever scare you when sharks approach you like that?
@AffordableWahoo Жыл бұрын
It's a special kind of eerie yeah. This one was especially persistent. All the other big tigers I've seen have just come in once and then left but this one just kept coming back.
@Ridesharekaraoke1967 Жыл бұрын
It always scares me when I see you gaff the tuna's and they start bleeding. Cause I feel that the blood may make them go crazy. I'm watching the video and saying to myself, HURRY GET IT IN THE KAYAK!!!!. LOL
