Basically everything you said here I agree with. I lived in FL for a decade and didn't find the people that friendly. I'd take Hawaii 10 times out of 10. Only thing better I could see with FL is it's easier getting out of the state.

I would choose florida for inshore fishing and being able to dock your boat plus better housing bigger house and land for cheaper being able to travel drive Hawaii is very pretty and the weather is better and the people are more friendly but i would get island fever it depends on what a person likes best

Island fever is a real thing I got it when I was stationed there but tbh bigger isn’t always better I’ve also done a lot of work in Miami. I prefer Oahu. Yes the drives are slower and tighter but it’s gives a certain feel. I feel safer and the vibe is much better. MIA is focused on showing off.

Technically you don’t have to have mountains to hike. Sure it’s a plus to see beautiful mountains, but hiking is a long walk in wilderness or country by definition. Florida has alot of hiking trails.

FL has walking on flat. Hawaii has much more hiking and has elevation change.

My husband & I actually lived in Kihei (Maui) Hawaii for 3 1/2 yrs, before moving back to our home state of MI. Since we had acclimated to the warm weather, winters seem colder than we remembered. We had been considering a possible try in FL, but after only 3 min. of this video I can firmly say we will not be doing that. LOL Hawaii was already too hot, and the cockroaches were unbearable. If FL is worse, it would be torture for me. Thanks for the info!

Isn't that funny how that works? I moved to Kansas a few years ago from texas and even the summer mornings seemed cold to me the first year I was here. The winter was absolutely brutal lol. After that I got used to it and even days that are below 0 aren't all that bad to me. I'd like to move up in the Dakotas, but my job here in kansas is too good to ever leave.
