I find myself a bit sad when I think of this. I have done 16 round trips to Hawaii from the mainland since 1995, and all but one roundtrip was on Hawaiian. I did not even shop , I wanted to fly the best and I believe I did. So, this will be the end of an era in a way. For anyone who is watching this, " Lance " - HAL steward of 37 years - is the best steward ever, the platinum standard. I wish you and your fellow employees the best through this.

HAWAIIAN Prez looks somewhat unsettled. Just PRAY ALL UNIONS will work for all people, including all retirees & that greed at this point in time does not show its ugly head. You’ve got pilots, flight attendants, machinists & I believe possibly teamsters Unions to contend with, I wish all employees of both companies, the smoothest of transitions. Wonder if reservations are on mainland, overseas or farmed out?

Peter Ingram, Failed CEO Yep, Peter Ingram surprisingly proved to be a grossly overpaid and overrated failure as CEO in so many ways. Wasn't even good enough of a leader to navigate before the ship was headed for trouble. Mark Dunkerly was leader, visionary and a success. Now Ingram is going to walk away undeservingly RICH and sail off into the sunset, hopefully not in Hawaii, if the Alaska deal goes through. So Peter, why don't you man up and give back most of your past salary and the huge bonus for selling off HA to help out all the non-contract professionals, who made HA legendary, but will lose their jobs when Ben takes out the axe? Are you sleeping like a baby these days? Btw, sure wore a sheepishly guilty face during Sunday’s big announcement and press conference. Do us all a big favor and just resign now.

Sorry you feel that way. Alaska has a proven track record, never declared bankruptcy. Hawaiian has almost 1 billion in debt. Alaskas financials are great, and they paid cash for this deal. In all reality this is a good deal. Far better than one of the big 3 buying Hawaiian.
