Great video as usual! I personally really like "melemele" :) A song that, interestingly, helped me learn Hawaiian colors, is "Black Rainbows" from "Hawaii Part II" album Also, I firstly discovered the Hawaiian language in this song (completely by a mistake) but I liked it from the first moment I heared it

You could do a vocabulary video in the future that lists transliterated words.

i’ve found these videos so helpful as someone who doesn’t even live in hawaiʻi so i never hear any hawaiian words but i have family there and i find this language so beautiful so i’ve been trying to learn for a bit but do you think you’ll ever do lessons like this in a podcast format?

Official Island Colors of Hawa'ii is a topic related to your informative lesson. In addition to having official island flowers or lei materials, each Hawaiian island also designates an official island color: Hawai'i: ‘Ula‘ula (red) - statesymbolsusa.org/symbol-official-item/hawaii/state-flower/ohia-blossom Maui: 'Ākala (pink) - statesymbolsusa.org/symbol-official-item/hawaii/state-flower/lokelani Kaua'i: Poni (purple) - statesymbolsusa.org/symbol-official-item/hawaii/state-plant/mokihana-berry Moloka'i: 'Ōma'oma'o (green) - statesymbolsusa.org/symbol-official-item/hawaii/state-flower/pua-kukui Lāna'i: 'Alani (orange) - statesymbolsusa.org/symbol-official-item/hawaii/state-plant/kaunaoa Ni'ihau: Ke'oke'o (white) - statesymbolsusa.org/symbol-official-item/hawaii/state-fish-aquatic-life/pupu Kaho'olawe: Hinahina (silvery gray) - statesymbolsusa.org/symbol-official-item/hawaii/state-flower/hinahina O'ahu: Pala luhiehu (golden yellow) or melemele (yellow) - statesymbolsusa.org/pua-ilima Source: statesymbolsusa.org/symbol-official-item/hawaii/state-cultural-heritage/island-colors

Is it me, or is your language really easy to sound out if you know English. Why is that? Is there a connection?
@EchoLog5 ай бұрын
Less phonemes and simpler phonotactics. (Good for long distance communication too 👍) Also English has a historical-etymological spelling system, where you need to at least half-learn English's cousin's spelling rules for different words. Where as polynesian languages made their Latin alphabet orthographies from (almost) scratch.
