No resets were needed for this part.
In this part, we reach the Formidable Oak at last. Our search for Olimar is over almost immediately, but a new threat emerges, forcing us to carry Olimar back to safety through one of the most perilous paths in Pikmin history.

this will forever be my fav ending to a pikmin game. pikmin 4 was cool and i liked the last cave, but trying to keep olimar away from the plasm wraith while also trying to find a way out was so fun. it genuinely stressed me out and i felt like the giant dog wasn't as much of a threat. i beat it my first time and for the plasm wraith it took a while

After beating the plasm wraith I had a nightmare that it was following me wherever i went, with this creepy music playing the whole time! I was teleporting to different places, including my room, like a fast travel system in a video game trying to get somewhere safe but every time it would reappear and the music would kick in again. I remember crawling through my landing and looking up to see the wraith crawling along the ceiling after me! 😭😨

The Formidable Oak wasn't used to being my favorite. But now it is! It is such as like the Submerged Castle. Because. The Plasm Wraith reminds me of the Water Wraith when you make the Water Wraith appear in the Castle... As it chases you around... Unfortunately, the only thing is that the Plasm Wraith chases you by FORCE and only the Water Wraith chases you by a Time Limit. I also love the singing from the Pikmin when you take too long to enter.

I DIDN'T REALIZE YOU COULD END YOUR DAY MIDWAY AND THEN GO BACK??? I've been pushing so hard to try to make my way through this stupid tree all in one go, I've had to restart god knows how many times because even after realizing I should keep the squads separate and make Britany run in a circle I still get caught up or mess up a bunch, hoping to beat this level soon because I'm so over it, everything else before this has been so easy and this is a pain in the butt, the farthest I've made it in one day is past the second spider after the bridge in the mushroom room and I only stopped because it ate my pink pikmen and I didn't realize because I was controlling Britany while they were moving

Fun fact: The goolix from pikmin 1, the waterwraith, and the plasm wraith are all the same species, they are based of a mythological creature known as the Umibozu, the creature that captured captains in the sea. Here we know that Olimar is a captain, and the goolix from pikmin 1 we know would specifically follow Olimar, pikmin 2 the water wraith tried to claim Olimar as well pikmin 3, the plasm wraith. So this entire time Olimar was being stalked by

Did you know in the second room, keeping Olimar in the water will prevent the Mysterious Lifeform from getting him, which buys you some time. It still makes loops around the room and is waiting for Brittany to grab him out

I use blue Pikmin when carrying Olimar, because up ahead in the oak, there are water sections where Brittany can hide with the Pikmin. The Mysterious Life-Form can't go in the water.

I think something like that also happened to me when I was first trying to use the trick. If I'm right, the problem is that you're moving too far ahead of the wraith, giving it a new, faster way to reach Brittany. The trick is to wait until it's about to get to her before moving her again.
