Hawk Attacks on Racing Pigeons

Cool video, them hawks can’t really catch the strong flyers up in the air, they can however catch the young, weak, and dumb ones. I’ve had lost many pigeons in the past due to hawks ambush techniques, Getting frightened and chased away too far, at too young of an age. And don’t know how to return. these days with the new breeds, i’ve Reduced the loss of birds. The young ones are capable of our flying the hawks and disappearing and able to return. So sometimes quality of birds helps reduce losses. And facing hawks in the air once in awhile is something all the pigeons must learn inorder to be smarter and have a higher chance of alertness to survival.

Y can't i still tell the difference between hawk attack vs falcon. What would you say would be a determining factor?

Wing lenght, tail lenght, speed of wing flaping. Its a goshawk in this video.

Falcons are smaller, and faster. Hawks would usually have a hard time catching something as swift as a pigeon, but a peregrine falcon would catch these for sport.

My birds always go up in the air so they could be higher than the hawk and that's when he gives up evry time he wants to go up and fly down at them he cant because they go highly and then that's when he just gets tired

He also has falcons in that area and the pigeons would rather fly to the coop or away from the hawk but at lower altitude rather than going up where the falcon meets them:)

I love hawks, but I wish they wouldn't hunt pigeons. That's just the way the food chain is though.
