Rey Lopez yeah , im gonna spell this wromg i always do, buy i love 'pelegrine' falcons. They reign as the top predator or close to the top predator in providence RI on the highest rooftops. Another great spot for them is acadia park cadillac mountain maine. Bro, ypu can go there in the spring , long drive from boston , but we got two perfect little cabins for 40 bucks a night and its 25 for the park.. well worth it, its beautiful. Maybe bring a bunch of pot. We ate edibles and drove the 5 hrs. And we had two of our kids both under age 1. Obviously were responsible with pot around the kids.

i remember in the late 80's the first Red tail hawks that returned to the new york area. the fist family of hawk along central park. bird watcher went bananas over their return, especially the first newborns. many documentaries were made of the event. Back then Pigeons in NY were ridiculously abundant since there were no predatory birds. Then the hawks came and shortly after some owls. and the pigeon population steadily dropped. In brooklyn such birds were illusive but more common to see, if you were near parks and cemeteries. including schools with large fields. Brooklyn became home to a flock of green parrots, that escaped shipping at JFK airport. we thought the birds would not survive NY's harsh winters. But we were shocked to find that not only did they survive, they flourished!! as mentioned parks and areas with open fields and tall structures became their nesting homes. one major location was Brooklyn college, and its fields lighting posts. The heat from the lights and their large housing made perfect nesting location for the birds during the winter months. other birds found refuge in steeples of churches and other tall building with hollowed openings. And so the predatory birds re-introduced themselves into the ny metropolitan region.

For all of you that don't know NYC did a program and released Hawks to control the pigeon and rat population here free pest control. I was working in Manhattan when one of these guys flew and landed on my arm like I was it's trainer so I think they were used to being around humans before being let free or trained in some way.

Also the rats that are poisoned look injured when they're out in the open making them easy pray for the birds unfortunately there is nothing you can do for the birds everyone is not going to stop poisoning the rats.
