what i do not like about all this hyper criticism of roster changes is this underlying assumption that the players who are involved in the changes have no agency or awareness of what may or may not work for them and that they will just blindly walk into situations that do not suit them.

jks kick says otherwise. the entirety of falcons team says otherwise. the 2022-2023 era of electronic igling says otherwise. kesraco and yurrih says otherwise. Seems to me alot of pro players in the community either do not care about trying to compete for tournaments, or just dont have any awareness. All the scenarios I mentioned is just everybody walking into the team completely blind and not having a suitable situation.

@@Frog-2001 it's not science, you can't predict everything, for every example you gave there are probably 3 examples of players adapting to the new role perfectly. And it's not about lacking of awareness - it's just that those players has egos - they truly believe they can do it.

@@proosee I just think the original commenters think that majority of roster moves are done diligently and with purposes. I dont think thats true. Majority of roster moves made by big orgs are dumb af and just shocking. Like this move hair, kick an igl bring a brand new unproven igl who's map pools are your perma bans, and also bring a random guy from a t2 team who isnt even an anchor as your anchor like they did with nexa. Is it possible that malbs just magically slots perfectly into an anchor role? Yes. Is it likely? I would say no. Perfecto was available on the market

@@prooseeI used Perfecto as an example. You can use it for all the anchors available on the market. Malbs is not only not an anchor, he never plays a single anchor role on any of the maps (you can see in hawka's video). So that's already one confusing and baffiling move. Snax when he played for Gamerlegion had a sub 50-40% win percentage in t side most maps GL played in. You can also eye test Gamerlegion, the way they played was so scattered and wasn't a well oiled machine. so the blame has to be put on the Igl. based on all this i just don't see a reason asto why on earth would g2 get these two players. they don't fit the requirements for g2 at all

Love the more nuanced approach to this analysis and recognising all of the contributing factors aside from just the absolute surface level shit that most pundits are throwing out there. With the players G2 have 90% of their play is already locked in and that change in IGL isn't going to ruin their game, but as you say will definitely up the fragging power because they have someone on the server who isn't Hooxi.

I can see why people don't think it's a slam dunk move but since people have finally agreed it was time for hooxi to go and they were successful with NiKo as the caller, I don't see why getting Snax couldn't have a chance to be an improvement at least.

It's hilarious how broadcast talent look at stats of igls from old teams in different tiers of the game with different players around them and expect that to be the exact same going into a new team as if giving an IGL different pieces cannot affect their calling. there are so many braindead takes in the scene it's insane

g2's problem was never their ceiling, it is their floor. g2 on paper has the highest firepower in this scene, we saw what happened when g2's firepower got unleashed in Katowice and cologne last year. However, in many cases, they are showcasing their awfully-low floor by not qualifying for Rio major, losing to fnatic at Paris major, and losing to Navi without a top 20 player 6 times in a row. I don't think Snax can bring up g2's floor that much.

saying navi doesnt have a top 20 player is outrageous to say the least. Main issue was their mentality, in those games, that you mentioned. 2024 g2 on the other hand, literally relying heavily on monesy dropping 90 kills in bo3, niko occasionally having decent maps but too scarce in the grand scheme of things. The floor was not low for the entire squad, they simply had 3 pieces who couldn’t muster up any kind of output kill nor impact wise. They won dallas solely because hunter actually did good in the maps they won . If their inconsistent pieces show up, in tandem with malbs performing too this could be an interesting change imo. ( Also idk why u mention csgo as if that has anything to do with the current situation )

Because his team shat the bed. He played really well and it was his teammates that did not even remember his tactics (also a massive life game from glowiing). He was also sick during the Major yet he almost made it into Elimination stage but barely lost to Eternal Fire (he was the second best frager in that match). Gamer Legion was a dead team back then

The pure hate for this move is shocking to me, i guess its for clicks/views etc but still. The craziest for me are the ranking videos where they rank moves that we can't even judge cuz they haven't played yet... And the fact that they talk shit about snax not making good runs with GL, but they like forgot that the only thing that made their run at Paris was siuhy (which we all know is the best igl of his generation) and iM's, and they both left. If you want to compare Snax and Hooxi, compare the pieces they had to work with.

Hooxi made to a quarter final of Antwerp with a whole random group and the only noticeable name left in that Copenhagen flame team is jabbi. Sure that might just be a once in a lifetime run but still the result is there. Snax with gl is a mid t2 team with barely any noticeable results. What make you think snax is the better pick here?

Taz + Snax , this Coach IGL Combo will not work, i am 100% certain! there was to much in the past! yes, they have a little bit more firepower now, but they still need m0nesy and Niko at 110% to win anything! letZ watch and see :)
