Like others have mentioned, once this info is prolific in 3.19 PU, I wonder how effective the routes will be. Thank you for the knowledge all the same! Luckily I won't have to worry because I only have a DUR and ROC as my starting point and that DUR does not have a lot of extra room to make it a serious cargo contender. I'll be happy staying in the shadows. Even when I make enough ROC mining for a Prospector, my refined ore will still be priority over any other cargo.

The changes are significant, and for me (Cat and C2 owner) full ship of diamond is 2.5mill capital, which is a lot, for 250k profit, better to buy cheaper commodity for those ships

Great video!! I would love for this to continue to PU, but chances are that there are a lot less people playing on the PTU, hence resources are readily available. This usually doesn't reflect on the PU because everyone trades the same resources which makes them all pretty scarce. I tried trading med supplies on the PU, and whilst it's fine to buy, selling them becomes a major issue and most places are fully stocked, leaving you hanging around sometimes for hours trying to sell the load. Medium ships have a better luck at this, but I dare challenge someone to sell a load of med supplies on a fully loaded caterpillar. Until CIG addresses the root problem, that is balancing stock amount across the servers to ensure all traders have a chance of selling the goods at a reasonable time frame, it won't be worth the time. They need to fix this before the Hull C ... else that ship will be a space cargo hotel.

THIS!!! unless this BS supply system and Economy gets completely revamped I won't do trading. Players will compete for the best routes which have shitty supply and then also pirates are getting more common. Basically makes it only worth it on empty servers which is bad. Sticking to Mining/Salvaging

I would agree that trading can be very profitable. There are some new goods that have a nice profit margin and are in decent quantities to make C2 owners drool at the money they can make. I have even tried some of the 200k plus short runs and they do work good. Problem is the 30k protection does not seem to be working well. You can lose millions as always to this, if you already have 10 plus million and want to see if you can let it ride but the 30k's will get you and I am still waiting for my C2 to return to base but I don't think it will. Star citizen pirates people way more than pirates ever will and the game is a bit rough right now. Still I enjoy doing it, hopefully 30k protection will tighten up to make it less risky.

I also have an MSR, I’ve been doing drug runs with it mostly but now I know it’s worth it to do some cargo. Do you think I should upgrade my MSR to the caterpillar once defense con starts or keep the MSR? Thanks.

If youre considering upgrading to a cat you might as well get the C2. It holds more and is barely more money. The MSR is pretty glorious though.

@@HawkesGaming I think the caterpillar would be the better long term ship as it’ll have 2 tractor beams making loading the cargo yourself in the future way easier. The c2 doesn’t have any tractor beams. I also love the look of it lol. I also really enjoy the MSR so it’s a hard choice.

at the current time, every location i go to has almost zero stock on anything good... Im fairly new to trading coming over from mining, so maybe I just need to learn the best places, or theres just tooo may people trading and its always gone.

Hey hey. Yep, started trading in 3.19 and it's worth it! Also, combining mining and trading is even better. Lets say you have an MSR or a Freelancer MAX, you can only fit 3 work orders from the refinery, top up the ship with stuff bought at one of the mining tradeposts ... gold say. Really really makes the trip worth it.

It's hard to say that with the changes to everything else including gold and price adjustments on everything. They made titanium the highest common ore drop for mining so something had to get a boost. I'm willing to bet it's intentional.

@@HawkesGaming Its not about the math. Its a matter if it allows to fill up a C2 for max profits. There are plenty of things to sell, but most stations don't let you fill the entire thing. Whats matters are the places that allow you to fill the C2 to maximum. Cargo hauling is not worth it for the time unless you can make 70K+ per run.

No it isn't, because of broken trading terminals and not recovering from 30k. As a matter of fact, trading is most fast game loop in SC to lose aUECs.

On the Diamon run you just barely made your money back. Where is the proffit? Your proffit is always a percentage of what you spend. When you spend 252k and sell for 314 the proffit is 70k.

You showed the number of auec going up yes we all know it's gonna profit and go up but most people are looking for that difference like when you sold the agricilum I think it was and you got 133k back. 133k wasn't the difference it wasn't the profit cause you had to spend some to get it back the profit is how much auec you gain which was never clarified.
