My favorite part is Clint’s phone call with his wife. The fact that he had told her about his time as Ronin, that he was completely up front about why he had to stay behind, and about Kate… he didn’t hide anything from her. And his wife fully supported him.

Really subverts the classic trope of the wife getting annoyed at her superhero husband always flaking on them, and the trope of said superhero husband not being fully upfront as well; not only did she not get angry about his delays, she fully understood and supported him the whole time. No wonder he loves her so much ☺️

Oh he ate shit during the entirety of the MCU. Out of all the Avengers him and Natasha with no big suit, super serum, wings or any kind of enhancement but even Nat didn't get tossed around as much as he did. I'm surprised he only has hearing loss with everything he went through, I'm really glad that detail is here. It grounds the character in reality.

I have a little bit of fencing experience but one of the big things that hinted Jack as a skilled fencer was that they purposefully made him left handed. I don’t know if the actor is left handed as well but it can be so annoying to face a left handed fencer as you’re usually used to dealing with a weapon on the other side.

The cop call tension was appropriate. It shows degrees of privilege. The Bishops are rich and own a private security company so it's not farfetched that she'd get an easy cop call. Clint's privilege is more on a human level with free meals at the Chinese Restaurant and respect from the FDNY and NYPD larpers. In contrast through the Bishops/Swordguy we're seeing sort of a Wilson Fisk relationship with power systems and the hero/human version through Clint like Daredevil's earned respect we saw on the Netflix show.

The second episode was very much an interrogation and Kate Bishop stepping up and questioning Jack Duqusene about what happened to Armand felt like a serious battle was going to take place at the penthouse. Then with the reveal of Echo in the end felt perfect way to end the episode as the action is going to start when episode 3 starts next wednesday. I also feel Echo will become Ronin by the end of this series as a way to set up her show.

Killing Clint would be a good parallel to Nat’s death, and it would both start those young ladies on some equal footing. Maybe Yelena’s in a position and Kate decides to not kill like, like Clint did with Nat? Yeah, that doesn’t invoke the warm fuzzies.

In the comics Kate Bishop takes on the Hawkeye name and Echo (Maya Lopez, the woman at the end of episode 2 who they announced will be getting her own Disney+ show) is the one who takes up the Ronin name. They might both end up in an MCU version of the Avengers. (Might be Young Avengers, New Avengers, regular Avengers)

I wonder if they going to highligh mentor-apprentice dynamics in this show. The Hawkeye mental and the relationship between Kate and Clint is the spine of the story, however we gonna get Yelena, who had special realtionship with her "predecessor", and now we get Echo follow the example of Kingpin(I really hoping we will get D'Onofrio, even just for one scene. After Arcane, I can see Fisk having a familiarly co-dependent relationship with his adopted daughter like Silco and Jinx had, and yes, I know Hailee Steinfeld also voiced Vi!).
