The fact that it has the breakout connectors for audio/video in/out is freakin' amazing. That alone gives me hope for our species. Do you still have the Eachine EV300D's? how does this guy look with a/v out from those? possible quick episode?

@@AlbertKimTV range really. my daughter likes to hang out with me when I fly so I output to the Eachine wrist monitor, but it's a bit tiny. only reason really.

Hi question , why cant i see the movies recorded on the sdcard on windows ?. as in Pc does not recognize the card . do you have this issue to or is is my problem only.

You selling it? I have the Hawkeye little pilot vr. I love it and almost bought this and the goggles separate for the DVR. Unfortunately there were no reviews so I didn't know if I should. Its an underrated headset for convenience. Of you crashed? Flip up the screen. I'm not upgrading past these till I go full digital

Thanks for the video. I can’t find an email to ask Hawkeye directly, do you know if they will offer a version of the little pilot VR with this screen? If not, do you know if this will fit with the Little pilot VR frames which I note can be bought in their original state as a “VR goggle”?

@ab vevo the powerplay screen is very good but the screen is much too small to be able to fly through. If you've ever flown an airplane through a monitor, you'd know the difference. Also, the powerplay has no receivers either.

External DVR might work with the AV out connector. I have not tried this though. It probably will fit the Viper frame but I don't have those anymore and can't test that config.

The Hawkeye is slightly better but getting high quality antennas is more important. If you use bad antennas, it won't matter which screen you get.

I don't get it, usually R band channel 1 is 5658, why is the Hawkeye E band CH1 5658? are they the same thing?

They're using a different convention for the lettering of the bands. It's just a label. Don't read too much into it.

You'll need a way to mount it but I've seen people do that and fly through the monitor.

I tried exactly that and it works. I've designed and 3D printed an adapter that fits Q7 and LP4 perfectly. However the issue is that you'll get horrible interference from the Q7 transmitter in your video if you don't use some kind of shielding. If you'd be interested, I can send you the STL file so you can 3D print the adapter yourself.

How long does the battery last with and without dvr on?

I didn't do extensive battery testing. I imagine the difference is not much. The battery is rated for 2.5 hours I think and I hardly ever got near a dead battery in all my testing with it.

Thanks. I find myself more a monitor user than with goggles, and i’m looking for an upgrade to the ev800d. I did mod it to accept the fatshark battery case so i can swap it with my sky02x, but still, am on the lookout for nicer monitor.

So glad I have seen this review. I am in the process of just switching to fpv drones, have just placed an order for Radiomaster TX and am looking to buy some goggles. Thought a cheap eachine pair would do but saw the Hawkeye Little Pilot 3 which looks the best way forward for me. Now you have just made it a whole lot harder with this review. Do you know if a set of Hawkeyes are coming out with the 4 LCD screen. The inbuilt battery and inbuilt dvr are a no brainier. Did I say thanks for the great review ? Thanks for the great review !

There was a problem with the AVI files recorded by this DVR. It will be rejected because the header information is wrong in a normal NLE or video player. When playing with videolan, the index is temporarily rewritten and played back, so full-length playback is performed, but if this is not done, the video played back will be shorter.
