They’re both amazing but I the X7 is more luxurious (like a Range Rover) where as the X5 is sportier (like a Porsche Cayenne), X7 3rd row is def exclusively emergency use (at least you get a large trunk though), I wouldn’t pick the M60i version of either though, for the X5, X7, and 5-series, the B58 I6 motor is PERFECT, if I wanted a V8 BMW, I would get a M850i or 760i (V8 is the way to go with the 7/8 series imo, I wouldn’t bother with the I6 versions of those)

Same engine they put in my M550i, though mine is a bit quicker :D I agree about the auto-start/stop. However, there is a button right below the ignition to turn it off. It can also be turned off more permanently (or at least until you receive an over the air software update) if you use one of the aftermarket ODB devices...they're not very expensive and you can make all kinds of useful adjustments.

Great review Anthony. For sure I prefer the X5. The 7 is just too bulky (for me) and I am not a fan of the split grill out front. That engine and exhaust are just amazing! How is your trip going? I hope that you are enjoying yourself and having fun. It's still awful hot over here and we topped out today at 113 but supposedly it's going to cool down this weekend. I would go x5 too. The x7 I’m ok with but the x5 is long enough lol. That is really hot, in the UK it’s in the 70s which is a huge difference from both of us. It’s cold 🤣. I Hoping next week to review some vehicles, we have a Motorsport event tomorrow so that will be fun and the family keeps taking me shopping. Happy Friday James

@@HawkeyeRides Disable the traction control once you start the engine. It will automatically disable the ASS. Beware, activating Cruise Control or Automatic Emergency Break enables the traction on the move that enables the ASS again automatically.

I'd go with the X5.... Audi ruined theSQ8 by sloping the rear door window to far forward.. Making it a crossover AG's not a successful

I own a 24’ X5 M60i they have identical exhaust. The presenter showed a cold start for the X7 (cats were cold) when the cats are warmed up, they sound like the X5 did. (X5 cold starts sounds the same… BRUTAL!)😊

Can you speak to the poor AC performance the X7 is having as documented by many? The X7 uses the same AC ompressor as the X5 yet is much larger. What is BMW thinking? Deal breaker for me.

@@HawkeyeRides Thanks. Unfortunately I was on a test drive with a salesman who should have known how to adjust the fan speed when I stated (repeatedly) that the volume of air is worse than my 2004 Toyota 4Runner AND the actual temp was not cold at all.
