Agreed. A change of game plan and addition of a gun midfielder...can make life a LOT easier. Enjoy the footy we're playing most of the time now. The last qtr last week was awful footy. But GWS will do that to a lot of good teams. They score heavily quickly. Today was a special effort. It looked and felt like 'FINALS FOOTY!" What a great day at the 'G'. I was lucky enough to be in the Hawthorn honour guard wearing my Kennedy Centre guernsey with my daughters and GF. What a great day and wonderful experience for my girls. CARN THE MIGHTY HAWKS!!!

Loved the spread of great players in this game Harry Morrisons best game for the club..Game 99. Watson was a maniac on the chase down and tackle. Top shelf. Calsher Dear took some crucial marks and kicked well. Gunny..what do I say about Mr Cool Calm and Collected? He is so good after all these years. Mass was clutch so was Weddle. Three goals from half back is outstanding. Daysy, Newk, Nash, Meek, McKenzie all had great games in the guts and around the stoppages. Sicily, Scrimma, Dimma and Frosty were superb and so cool under pressure down back. Not a lot of that 'grass guarding' tactic, a little but only when in a rolling 'defensive block'. Good delivery forward too. Great game all around. And Luke Breust...as the super sub, 4 kicks, 2 goals, 2 marks and 3 tackles. Excellent value for the late sub in the fourth qtr. Geez I loved seeing how early Carlton fans left this game too. They're gutless, downhill skier supporters. They won't stay to see the whole game out. What if one of their players takes the mark of the year or their mob makes a superb comeback?? Leaving early is just plain sooking. I never leave early. I am a Hawthorn member and I have seen some awful performances over the years. Now, I've seen far more years of good footy being played than bad but, to get out of your seat, once you've paid your hard earned, you're dressed in your club colours and have kids in tow...and you leave the ground at THREE QTR TIME??!? Spare me. I've seen teams come back from 63 pts down at half time to win...Hawks vs Saints at Waverley in 1999(the 'Hawk Walk' game). What if, as a proud Patriots fan I left the stadium as the Atlanta Falcons held a 28-3 lead over my team with 3:18 gone in the final qtr of Super Bowl LI? You just DO NOT LEAVE AN AFL GAME IF YOU ARE A TRUE SUPPORTER OF YOUR CLUB. You leave if you're a gutless puke. Someone who can only sit through the good times. You're weak!! I saw bays and bays of empty seats where early in the contest Carlton members sat. 84773 crowd ended up being nearly all Hawthorn fans by half way through the final term. Blues fans...you're gutless, spoiled, downhill skiers. Just like those pathetic Melbourne fans who piss off up to the snow once they look like missing finals. Get some guts and see out a game.

Long time lifelong Hawk supporter here. Agree with your game analysis , but you didn't need to bag Carlton supporters so emphatically. . Just to be happy with our good win is enough i reckon. One player not in the best this game was C. MacDonald. He's usually crucial to our wins , so good to see he can have an average game and Hawks still win well. That's a mark of a great TEAM. We are indeed a happy TEAM at Hawthorn.

Maybe you didn't experience the poor treatment Hawthorn got from Carlton while we shared tenancy at Princes Park...or maybe you choose to forget it. And I'll knock any football supporter who leaves a game early. Look at the Tigers supporter base. 100000+ members a few years back when they were doing well and now they drop off so quickly. Down hill skiers too. At Dustys 300th we outnumbered the Tigers fans which was clear once those pissheads began clearing out at half time. We, at Hawthorn, do things the hard way and we stick fat even when things are tough. The Blues, and Pies, thought they'd walk into finals this season. Its not that easy. We did it from 0-5 and had no help from the AFL with crappy scheduling nearly every week. Next season is going to he tough. Weve shown our teeth now teams will want to knock them out at every opportunity. Sam Mitchell has delivered a solid game plan and the talent on the park deliver exciting footy. We've becone a 'destination club' once more. Making it back to finals is going to he tough and anyone who thinks differently has shite for brains. But I'll tell you one thing. I'll dig in and have a go at those Blue Bagger a-holes, and any other teams weak supporters who leave games early, as often as I like. My memory is long and they treated us like crap as co-tenants at Primces Park. Geez, I wonder what Fitzroy fans think about their time at Princes Park? And I agree re Connor McDonald but he is certainly an outside player who benefits from the hard inside work of others. If he's going to play that way rhen he must have scoreboard impact. Getting him the ball inside fifty only for him to spray it is deflating upon the on ball brigade. I like CMac though... he's got flair and character. Weve sone very good young talent coming through. Who wouldve thought Calsher Dear plays all year and plays in two finals matches? Great for the young lad.

Yeah..maybe not since 2016 but the AFL, for so e reason think the Hawks don't draw a crowd....we've had record crowds this season and our games are watched by loads of people on Kayo and Foxtel. Next year we'll get more primetime matches. Remember the year Carlton had six Friday night games and won the wooden spoon? The AFL screwed the pooch there but wouldn't do anything to shift the schedule as they're idiots. No one at the games and no one watching on TV. The Hawks will be primetime next year. Much to the AFLs displeasure. If they had their way they'd get rid of us. They tried it once and if we don't keep buying memberships to ensure our financial viability they'll try it again. The AFL suck sweaty camel balls. You read it here first folks.
