Good video. Gave me some ideas of my own. Instead of drilling enough to get coupler freely over axle, I drilled only 15/32" then pressure fit the coupler to the axle. Yes, it may be a bit more difficult to remove but I think it would be less damage to the axle in the case I needed to return under warranty. If needed to remove, I will be able to drop a short piece of 3/8 round stock into the coupler then screw in the axle bolt. This should pull the coupler off.

wondering if you put a thread on the "axle" so you can thread the coupler right on... just an idea
@HAXMAN3 жыл бұрын
Well dang. That’s actually a much better idea. I wish I had thought of that. It would make the “joint” even stronger. Thanks!

This video was informative and funny, I really enjoyed it. However, I'd be willing to bet that it would have been simpler to just replace both 'axles' with newer longer round stock.

I upgraded my wheels like the first day I bought the 3500. I used wheels like that and not ones with pneumatic tires, which will just go flat between uses and cause worse problems than the stock wheels.

Drill a small hole in the lid for the oil. You can then squeeze it out of a little hole less waster and better accuracy

Good job on the video, I liked the humor. You might check into a machinists vise, maybe even make one. It’ll sit right on the drill press, hold parts secure, and make the job easier and safer. That’ll do pig.

I just purchased this generator for when we have a power outage. Is it safe to leave unattended (when no one is home) while it runs? It will be on a even surface so no risk of it rolling or tipping over.

Worst thing to do while using a drill press is use gloves. I have watched people rip up their hand when a bit grabs gloves. Also with how little your actually drilling on the couple the oil is not needed.
