What we did for fuel storage was bought an old fuel oil delivery truck that wouldn’t pass inspection and just parked it in the yard and hooked a Fill Rite electric pump to it. Then the company just filled it up twice a week. It held 2500 gallons. That really gets my blood boiling hearing about the thievery from low life’s. I’m sorry you have to deal with this.

My uncles had that problem last year or the year before with some of their round bales. We live on a main state highway too and everyone knows everyone. The guy was pissed when they showed up with their trailer, tractor and the deputy sheriff.

Here in KY we had hay thieves. One Farmer that was doing hay sales even caught one guy using his tractor to steal hay. Sheriff said he couldn't do anything except give him a ticket for joy riding a tractor because he couldn't prove the hay was his. Found out the Local farmers co op had grain getting stolen by the truck load so they put rfid chips in the grain. He got some and started putting them in his hay.

GPS trackers that are self powered with internal batteries are easy to stash in equipment.. not very expensive to buy and 35 to 50 bucks a year for service if i recall. set up to if the vehicle moves more than 10 feet it sends messages to your phones.. kill switches are fairly easy to wire in most trucks.. there are even padlock type battery disconnect switches..

Hauling hay sure has changed since I done it 45 years ago. All we had was a truck and our two hands. I use to haul hay when I was in high school balls weighed 60 to 80 pounds each . We would hand stack it on the truck take it to the barn and hand stack there. Yep time’s have changed.
