The challenge with that, is that you risk humanizing Vader too much which may take away some of the terror behind his character.

Just as a Luke Skywalker series is unnecessary, so is a Vader series. I agree with the other comments here and will add that there is a risk of making Vader's brutality and terrifying actions seem "not so bad" or even acceptable in certain cases which would not be good. I mean, we already have fans applauding when they see him, including showing happiness and amazement when he is brutal. A series would only add to such behavior. There is a vast difference between admiring the acting ability of someone playing a villain, the writing for the character, seeing him do things in another media and loving the violent things he does. One is appropriate, the other is not.

Yep, I definitely want to see a Vader show with Hayden. See the early years, how he struggled with his new reality, the loss of Padme, his crippled body, the abuse of Palpatine and his contempt for him, his burning obsession with Obi-Wan, his rutheless and brutal hunt for the last Jedis, see the internal conflict, and just see how the senate and the politics work in this new Empire.

I agree with Hayden. The Kenobi team did a great job with Obi-Wan's and Leia's relationship in this season. Obi-Wan had this mantra of no attachments throughout the PT, and look at him now holding Leia's hand at the end of episode 4/hugging her like a proud papa in episode 5 after Leia got the hangar roof to open again. Obi-Wan is coming to terms with the necessity of human connections, that he too has strong attachments with all of the Skywalkers. It's great character growth.

That is a great point. He is trying not to make the same mistake he made with Anakin. Anakin really needed a parental figure and he went to the only one who gave him one - that was unfortunately Palpatine. Obi Wan's attachment rule often prevented him to be someone Anakin needed.

@@brucesnow7125 What is tragic is that Vader would have vastly preferred this evolved version of Obi-Wan over Sidious by the time of this season of Kenobi. Sidious treated Vader like a slave, far worse than any treatment he ever received from Watto.

Obi Wan does not have strong attachments with all the Skywalker Family. If he did he would have not left Luke alone to rescue Leia. But as a Jedi, he knew to fulfill his mission. The Jedi rule of no attachments did not forbid what Obi Wan is how doing towards Leia. What "no attachments" meant was that you did not allow the love you feel for others to keep you from fulfilling a task or mission and you did not forbid a loved one from doing the same. Yes, they took it too far many times and did not clearly explain what it meant such as when Yoda told Anakin "miss them do not" and "mourn them do not". Anakin wrongly understood that to mean he was to have virtually no feeling or concern for his mother or his wife. From Yoda's comments to Qui Gon concerning his training Anakin, it is evident that Qui Gon had disobeyed him and the Jedi Council many times but always with respect and for the right reasons. Anakin allowed emotions of disdain, disrespect and power to cloud his mind, unlike Luke who was really following Qui Gon's ways, but did not know it. And many fans want to keep blaming the Jedi ways for Anakin keeping his marriage a secret but they forget that Padme also wanted it kept secret even though Anakin was ready to reveal it.

@@TheRivrPrncessObi-Wan couldn't have brought Luke along offworld with him while rescuing Leia as he would have endangered both twins. He had to leave Luke on Tatooine with the Lars. Doing so didn't mean he didn't care about Luke. Obi-Wan had/has strong attachments despite his protestations. Remember his anguished "I loved you!" to Anakin on Mustafar and the subsequent burial of the lightsabers (Obi-Wan died inside when he thought Anakin had died). Furthermore, Deborah Chow has described the Kenobi series as an Obi-Wan/Anakin love story, so we're supposed to see Obi-Wan mature by coming to terms with the intrinsic human need for emotional intimacy. The old Jedi Order was incredibly dysfunctional in this regard.

I do hope that they explore more of Vader's psyche around his original grief, hopefully in a show of his own, Hayden deserves it so much. A Vader film could be centered around his tragic search for justice for his mother and his wife. Not mentioning Padme once in the Kenobi show is incomprehensible.

In my opinion Vader killed Anakin, because Anakin killed Padme. Or at least that's what Vader was told. Once Palpatine said to him it seemed in his anger he killed her, Anakin was completely dead. That what I took from Vader's unmasked conversation with Obi-Wan in Part VI. Sure he was knighted Vader sooner than when he woke in the suit, but I feel a little bit of Anakin was still inside, in the way he spoke to Padme. So it's like... Vader now suppresses and blocks any of those feelings or thoughts of her. He considers himself the murderer of Anakin, so the personality of Anakin is literally no longer around to feel the longing or grief for Padme. I know some comics depict otherwise, but that's just my theory in the canon of the films and this show.

Obi Wan experiencing love, which literally is what motivated him to come out of the darkness & reconnect with the Force, is kind of a inner conflict they can explore in the next season. He can may be understand Anakin's trouble with the Jedi's old ways. He started with his love for Leia. Then decided to leave Luke alone & train him later in life, again against the Jedi ways. He steals from his employer, he manipulated Reva, used her as bait. I like them showing him possibly tapping into some dark elements. May be have Vader do the same in using some light elements or showing mercy from time to time. Avoiding doing certain things. Manipulating the Emperor. He basically hid that there was a bit of Anakin left in him for decades. There's a lot of story that can be told. EDIT: Don't get me wrong, Vader is to remain brutal, but it could be interesting where now and then he'd find himself in conflict. The old Anakin "What have I done" just showing form time to time.
