South Africa and UAE is the only countries where the FJ is still on sale, in low volumes though. Lead times in SA is currently between 2-6 months. Very greatful to have go one in 2020. Second-hand models are becomming very sought after here in SA with crazy prices being offered. Thanks for the great video.

Hi there, I live in one of EU country and in 2019 I bought brand new FJ Xtreme from UAE. But funny thing is those Xtreme versions were not equipped with "approved local accessory" (hood scoop, LEDs, bushwackers, fox susp., cat-back exhaust and other wheels/tires). I have Xtreme badge on GXR "basic" version. But both are equipped exactly the same with rear locker, A-TRACS, double fuel tank etc. I was told by the owner of the company that imports FJs and other LCs (mostly J70s) to EU from UAE that all that stuff I found on my FJ (Xtreme badges and "chrome" plastics beloved by Arab and Asian people) are addings attached in UAE already. And "approved local accessory" are mounted just before hitting the showroom floor, but imports are taken from main import parking lot, so this is why mine is without them. But I do not really care. For me my FJ is all about building it, buying new stuff and getting excited for years. Today I bought armrest and black handles on ebay. :) Cheers from Poland.

Anyone else have a feeling with the Bronco doing so well releasing now that Toyota might bring us another FJ concept soon?

Maybe! We can only hope

Idk if you've got it in america, but the middle east discontinued the FJ shortly after this video, and recently started selling a new Land Cruiser that looks an awful lot like the new broncos

I remember the FJ-S at Summit, that was the first time we had seen those wheels. We now have them on our 4Runner.

Very good job, congrats for "get a doctorate" in FJ Cruiser. One more thing. Red on red body color scheme was also available in UAE (or GCC market for Gulf Chamber of Commerce) and in 2019 I saw one brand new (it could've been 2018 MY) for sale over there with black/red leather seats and steering wheel. All other equipment was standard or similar to GXR. Cheers.

Another awesome video! You are truly the main FJC Guru! I have a question O Wise one… do you know what gear ratio the FJS was running? If it came with 285/70/17, standard 3.73:1 gears may have not been optimal. That would have been the 8.2” rear diff so I’m wondering if they stuck 4.10:1 back there. Although the supercharger would have helped of course. 🤔
@FJX2000_Productions2 жыл бұрын
So the factory FJ Cruisers came with 3.73 gears from the factory and most who do an upgrade go with 4.56 or 4.88 gears, especially if they install something like 35s. I talk a little bit more about it in the video i'm working on now
@tonycerruto51572 жыл бұрын
@@FJX2000_Productions Right on! Yeah, I wasn’t sure if Toyota changed gear ratios for 285s. Honestly I’d be surprised if they did. 285/70/17 are right on the cusp of needing a re-gear. I run 295/70/17 on my Taco. I also carry about 1000 lbs of extra stuff… bumpers, winch, tools… all the obligatory overland goodies. 😝 I re-geared my Taco to 4.56:1 and now my shift points (auto trans) are back to where it was factory. For my FJC, I’m going with the standard 285/70/17 on adjustable coil overs (not sure what yet). I run Dobinson MRR on the taco. Used to Have Toy-Tec BOSS. I LOVE the Dobbinson’s MRR but a bit pricey unless you really want the fine tune-ability. On our 5th Gen T4R we run RadFlo 2.5 extended with piggy backs. On our 3D Gen we have the Rad-Flo 2.5 non reservoirs with LC 80 coils and extended shocks in the rear (set up from Sonoran Steele in AZ). AMAZING flex, nice ride. I think I’m going to do the same on my FJC. excellent bang for buck. For anyone planning on doing suspension, tires… then adding bumper weight down the road. I highly recommend a good 2.5” diameter shock with adjustable coil overs to compensate weight.

20" wheels look stupid and not practical for off road. The standard original first production looks the best.
@FJX2000_Productions3 жыл бұрын
Yeah the 20" wheels on the Final Edition are certainly a silly decision, but I think in Japan they were a lot less off-road minded and were going more for style. As opposed to what they do here in the US.
