might i suggest punching glove instead? a max atk +2 swords dance hitmonchan will still get a drain punch OHKO on a full def/hp umbreon. So you could trade 20% damage to help protect from contact abilities/items and keep a bit of health that may matter on occasion.

Eh, the 20% damage can really matter when you're dealing with neutral or resisted moves. Plus there aren't a whole lot of common contact penalties that you'd likely use a Hitmonchan against

My attack build umbreon uses snarl stab with dark Tera. which really helps the team by keeping the opponents attackers calm. I love it. Use a throat spray because snarl is a sound base move. Teach it calm mind. And moonlight OR wish and You’re good to go. It’s not traditional but it’s my attacking umbreon and it’s fun to play with.

Hitmonchan is my favorite of the Hitmon line. In X/Y it was by far my MVP in my singles team. The amount of Mewtwos it killed is astounding. (So much luck, however, as my Ice/Thunder Punches procced like mad). Such a fun mon.

all of your opponents pokemon except the umbreon are massive, shiny, 3 had marks (least rare mark is 1 in 50 unless from event iirc), so either this dude has been on the grind for that team, or (and im not saying they are) theyre genned, and i just gotta say, im impressed by anyone who was on the grind for a full shiny full jumbo team and succeeded

I've caught like 60-65ish shinies in Scarlet so far, and many of them are max large, max tiny, and/or have marks of varying rarity, probably 15-20 or so of them. If you catch a ton, it's just more likely on average that you have a couple teams' worth of those mons. Still possible they're genned, but not impossible by any means that they're not, I would think

I always felt like Hitmonchan needed just a 'bit' of a buff. It already has a decent ability, and buffing its stats would require buffing the other Hitmon's as well. If the Punching Glove was a bit better (maybe a 20% buff), it could be better to run over the Life Orb. Conversely, if it had a signature move (maybe one that tied into its Dex data). My idea is to give it the move 'Round Break' which protects Hitmonchan from attacks (but not status effects) and restores 50% of Hitmonchan's health, but can only be used once all it's other moves have been used once (similar to Last Resort). Using Round Break then resets the counter (so you have to use all three other moves again). The move will fail if Hitmonchan has less than three other moves. Basically, it's the idea that Hitmonchan takes a break after three minutes.

there's a funny fortress set you can use, sturdy, red card and counter, basically if your opponent is a physical attacker wnd gets greedy you can effectively get 1 layer of spikes, then spam counter and when they hit you you get a free ko whilst disabling their buffs
