Can we just take a moment to recognize and applaud Ember for being on here and actually responding to questions/comments?? That's awesome and obviously a company who cares about feedback and customer interaction. Way to go Ember!! As for this RV, I really do like it a lot. I do not own an RV but have been considering it for a couple of years now and have been watching Uncle Josh's videos to really learn what I need to be looking at/for. Knowledge is power as they say. It's very hard to find the "perfect" RV so you have to decide what is a necessity for you and what you can live without. I am not a fan of the east/west beds but being a true queen is helpful. TV mount would be fine as long as it's on a full movement swing arm. I love the theater seating, then couch, then dinette. Comfort of relaxing versus an actual table as it's just the wife and I. One thing glossed over that I know my wife would absolutely love, and one of the biggest complaints of hers when lacking, is the little foot shelf so she can put her foot up there to shave her legs. Especially in a small shower...that is amazing. I prefer the dual axle for stability and for if/when you ever get a flat tire but again, cost/weight/etc are concerns. Excellent choice here!

Josh, thank you for doing all your videos. They are always super informative and the reason I have been a follower of yours for years. I am so happy you do the ones on the Ember line as we live in Wisconsin, and it is a "Ember Desert" to see one in person. They are never at any of the camper/RV shows in the state. We call different dealers, and we always get the same answers of " Well, we could probably get one in for you as we do carry them but not a big seller so we just have a couple " (not models we are interested in) I guess we should just make a trip and come to Bish's RV and talk to you or one of the other fine people there! 👍

Move the TV back to the space on the left of the counter but make them a fold up or down in front of the window. You can then pivot the TV for a more comfortable viewing while in the theater seats. Make the space under the bed short drawers, way if you have to add batteries they can go behind the drawers. They should keep the shower miser feature. Keep the slide, I want the extra room.

Put a couple of totes in that under bed space. People who want storage will appreciate the totes. People who don't want storage will do something else with the space. Drawers are another possibility. Put a bug in Ember's ear that a heat pump would be a great upgrade for people who frequently camp with shore power. I wish that Ember made a queen murphy bed/bunkhouse combo. I'm still towing with a 2006 Envoy. With the 178BHSK pushing a dry weight of 4400lbs and the Apex Nano pushing 4200lbs a similar Ember would likely be too much for me at this point. :-(

Thanks for your comments! Heat pumps are coming to the Furrion ACs later this year (2025) and we'll be testing them soon! Josh, this is an impressive effort by Ember! But to maximize marketability, there is certainly room for improvement in minor elements of the design. First, and foremost, this can, and should, be a four-season camper. It’s off-grid abilities make it appealing as a solo or couples hunting camper, but for so many regions, this requires an RV that can withstand overnight freezes easily. Gaining such a capability on the Spark would vastly open the aperture of utility and, subsequently, marketability. As to your question about the under bed storage, the panels need to go. They are in-place to support an option that is exercised on fewer than 12% of total sales. Instead, that storage space should be open and “tote ready” with the manufacturer retaining an ability to install a modular enclosure panel if the Max Solar option is selected. Finally, the TV location could be perfectly fine, especially if the builder were to attach the TV Mount to the forward side of the upper kitchen cabinet enabling a full swing around the cabinet, thereby permitting optimum viewing from the theater seats. Keep up the great work!!
@JoshtheRVNerd15 күн бұрын
I’ll be sure to pass that feedback on to the manufacturer!
@TMstr10018 күн бұрын
You asked for input, here it is. I like to see outside, so would like a window in the front. The under bed storage needs to be open from the front, or maybe two drawers. The counter outlets could be on a pop up in the corner of the counter near where they are. I would leave out the head board and put a longer mattress. That way you could sleep from either end, not worry about knocking your head. And yes, try it without a slide and make it a two seat booth, not a 4 seat booth. I have no ideas on solar, as I don't know where the other things are tucked. But overall, as a solo camper myself, I like this one, and the East/west bed is not a problem. I would prefer a dual axle, for stability, but you can't have everything. One last thing, I don't understand the whole TV thing. Camping is camping, even in a trailer. Love your videos, just wish you were in Missouri.

It's a nice trailer. I'd qualify your "Couples" statement a bit having had an East West bed in the past. It is a younger couples trailer as when you reach a certain age climbing over one another in the night to visit the bathroom just doesn't work. I like all of the cabinetry. While not ideal the TV location is ok for this size of trailer. I prefer the panels on the under bed storage as we keep things like vacuum cleaner, bottled water, soda, etc under the bed and we don't want to be looking at it. Definitely need struts for the under bed storage lid. I didn't see any wardrobe storage for those of us that hang our clothes. Maybe option one where the headboard is with drawer for the existing storage. Don't mount the toilet paper holder. It is too close to the toilet. We don't ever install or use the manufacturers TP holder and go with a floor mount we store under the bathroom sink when traveling. Definitely need the slide. When using the trailer for destination travel the extra space is a necessity since it serves more as a hotel room rather than a sleeping location after spending the day by the campfire.

Great floorplan for the size of camper. Don't like the sidways bed but that's what it needs to be to make this work. Ditto for the radius shower, much prefer rectangular. OK Josh, not sure whether I could get away with towing this thing with a Tacoma but I really like the set up. I think it’s small but definitely has everything that you possibly need in a smaller camper. A couple things not crazy about such as the slide and the east west bed. But for the size of it, it will definitely do! The radius shower I’ve never been a fan of, but it looked like it had some fairly decent room in it so again doable. The cabinet space was freaking awesome. As for the lower bed storage, I agree they could’ve cut out the two squares and made an open space underneath it for you to store your stuff. But above and beyond these little things, I truly like this little camper. Like I said, I do agree with one of the folks that have made comments about making one with no slide. I think they really should. Don’t get me wrong. I like the slide idea, but until they can come up with one that is more reliable, to me it’s just something major that can go wrong when you don’t need it to. Anyway, brother, great video as always. Keep Rockin it Josh

The east-west bed is not my favorite. That’s off the top. But you can’t beat the rest of the features. For a max of 6k in towing for many, this is a game changer. Especially with those tank capacities. Ember does not disappoint. Under 25’ with that storage? Another plus. With that counter space, this becomes a serious contender with TT’s a few feet longer. For the numbers, I’d make a serious consideration on this. The space under the bed would be a pet palace. For the solar, I’d find another place for the batteries. Because I have to have solar. This one gets a 7/5. With everything being a trade off in a TT this size, the cons are pleasantly offset by the pros. Worth looking at!!!

Lots to like with this model. I personally am not interested in a single axel but I’m guessing there is a market for them. The bathroom set up is an improved version of my 2018 Winnebago 2250DS. I find it quite comfortable and not restrictive. The one thing they missed the mark on is the gray water tank size. Way too small and frankly 35 gallons of black is quite a bit. You can always add water but when the tanks are full you’ve got to dump. It’s a problem if you are stationery for more than 3-4 days.

Yeah, I'd consider this RV even as a slide skeptic. I mainly don't like them because they're drafty and I RV in winter. Being able to use the seating when retracted in winter and have extra space in summer could be great. And that slide creates a LOT of extra space. The fridge, pantry & bathroom arranged to the rear allows this small camper lots of countertop space, which is especially needed if you don't option the dinette. It's such a smart layout. Glad they paid Jayco or whoever they had to for those cupholder trays. As a moochdocker who rarely has access to 30 amp electrical, yes, I'd be interested in 1200 watts rooftop solar system with the chill cube. But can you fit 1200 w on a 20 foot? Asking for my 20 foot.
@NG-fg6qf18 күн бұрын
I took a look at Ember's 1200 w max solar upgrade and it seems a fair deal at $7500 msrp considering (I think) Geo/E Pro were offering 600 w for $6000 msrp in 2023. The CCC for this camper is surprisingly good so even adding maybe 250 lb of upgraded solar electric equipment there would still be almost 1200 lbs. remaining.

Nice camper. Well appointed for a single axle. I think we are coming to a point where manufacturers are realizing there are many buyers out there who want single axle, but they also want it decked out like many mid range (larger) dual axle campers that have some of the same quality and options. I think this is going to be popular for the single/couple customers who have a little more $$ to spend on their new camper.

As a charter member of the RV Nerd Heard Crew, I have been following Ember literally day one and viewed the very first one sold to Josh’s Dad. Thus, I have studied the engineering of all three Ember series and have been RVing for decades. Significantly impressed with all three Ember product categories. Professionally I have decades of new product development, manufacturing quality control and advanced material reinforcement engineering experience. I have owned multiple manufacturing organizations in both hard and soft goods for a wide range of industries with a passion for the outdoor RV life. My analysis shows a true 19FD floor plan with the new lower cost Curt coil and shock suspension system (not the current Ember Overland Curt independent suspension) is a perfect fit for general on and off highway suspension without the weight and cost of the current Curt independent suspension. No one in the industry to my knowledge in the single axel market is taking advantage of the new Curt solid axel suspension just introduced. Appears to be low hanging marketing and engineering fruit for the taking. I would take an aluminum frame, the same Geo Pro 19FD floor outfitted exactly the same but with double pane acrylic windows, heated and enclosed underbelly with the new Curt solid axel coil spring & shock suspension. Also, no valances over the windows, composite floor walls and roof Ember style. And definitely delete the single outside 1970s Radio Shack outside mono speaker on the Geo / E-Pro lines. The number of Geo / E-Pro 19FD floor plans here in the Colorado Rocky Mountains is incredible. Dealers can’t keep them in stock. Just some thoughts. Best, Kent

Here I go again: great small trailer, BUT with modest fresh and gray water tanks, a water wasting tankless water heater is a show stopper. Unless you are in a full hookup site ( with sewer) those endless showers promised with tankless aren’t happening, since your gray tank will fill in a flash. Boondocking, every gallon of freshwater counts, so running extra water waiting for hot is another issue. Having paid for electric at my site, I don’t appreciate fueling hot water at my expense. Finally in these eco friendly times, where, lawnmowers and cars are going electric. How does it make sense to burn fossil fuels when you wash your hands? Thank God Flag/wood are not drinking the koolaid! If Ember wanted a competitive advantage, they would make water heat an option…they already have a great product, one I cant buy currently. PS: You rock for specifying the slide cable mechanism AND noting whether the furniture can be safely used with the slide in. I listen to your reviews before any others.
@EmberRecreationalVehicles18 күн бұрын
55 gallons for a fresh tank is considered quite large! As for your comments on tankless water heaters, we'll just note that it uses propane with the highest efficiency -- much better than electric or a traditional tanked water heater. Also, since it's on demand, it's only heating the water when it's called for instead of wasting gas and electric keeping the water hot.
@jimgeorger445218 күн бұрын
@ 55 gallons of fresh is a lot, esp for a mini camper, but the gray water tank probably holds 30. So many campsites have electric, which you paid for, why not use it to heat water….and save water. There are advantages to both, like couch vs. dinette, and I’m suggesting that the folks who can figure out how to offer an option will outsell those who simply justify what they sell. Wish it could be Ember. Just design the space for either unit. Install wiring at the factory to accommodate either, Stock two high quality alternatives. Let me pay for the dealer to install either one as part of “prep”. You folks seem responsive, based on these exchanges, go for it and make your mark! Think what an advantage you would have at RV shows…I can see your banner now “ Go Your Own Way”.

The under-the-bed storage, you have great points about a heavy mattress making it difficult to access the platform, but considering how much people customize RVs, I think that leaving current design is the better option. No slide is always going to hit a portion of the market and I can see the floor plan/wide body allows for no-slide to be reasonable in this case.
