Also, it'd be great if the sofa had a bracket on the front that would allow you to attach a removable table to it that angles out, that you could maybe store in the chase lounge when not using it. THAT would be the best of both worlds.

My husband and I love this unit!! We would use TV trays when eating on the sofa area. When done, you fold the trays and put away. No need for a floating table that will use space.

Out here in "Actual" Montana, we don't spend very much time inside our campers. We're out 4-wheeling, hiking, fishing, hunting, during the day and sitting around the picnic table for dinner and then the fire ring at night till it's time to go to bed. If it's raining or snowing? Still out there in it. So, those nice couches and relaxo-loungers are wasted. What we really need is a great bed. A big one where my 6'2" frame doesn't hang off the end of the bed. I need a bed and matress as good as I have at home. A good night's sleep is the main ingredient for a successful camping experience.

I love it. I would change the long sofa thing and add a coffee table that can elevate for a dining table when needed. There is plenty of room. I dont like the vent on the side of the island. I would normally put my narrow garbage container there.

Firstly, Josh, don't ever let anyone tell you you're anything other than beautiful. As for the fifth wheel, there are things that are AMAZING and things that are meh. I'll start with the awesome: 1. Cargo carrying capacity actually meant for full-timing. 3600 lbs is awesome! 2. Water capacities are fantastic for boondocking. 3. Bedroom layout with that mega slide is really clever. However, while I like what Keystone was attempting to do here, I feel as though they fell short on actual execution mostly by not maximizing the space given such as but not limited to the following places: 1. In kitchen on the front corner (driver's side), there is dead space where the counter hits the slide corner. I would have added a hole in the counter corner to throw trash into a bin down below it and a hole in the slide to pull the trash bin out of so I wouldn't have to smell it inside. Outdoors RV Mfg does this and it's pretty sweet. 2. The back wall is very, very empty. It feels like it's lacking some kind of cabinetry or _something_. The omission feels glaring, actually. 3. The fireplace feels like it should have a drawer behind it. 4. Control panel cabinet feels like dead space- if the control panel wiring needs that much space, then the wiring harness is probably a rat's nest.

@@MrNickb-s500 Bed/Bath closet slides in travel trailers are definitely less common now (though they had a SURGE in 2012-2013). Instead to tend to find more completely separated bed/baths. Though exceptions still exist. Our folks at 800-256-5196 are always happy to work out a few suggestions for you of course!

I just fell in love. I have the perfect stools for the kitchen. The extra long L shaped couch is amazing. I think, because mine would be a full time destination camper, I would put a small desk or table under that back window... or do the floating table like you said for a din-ofa. The ONLY thing I'm not a fan of is the corner shower but if it's bigger, it's worth it to have all the storage. Yes. This IS a winner for what I'm looking for!!

Impressive!!! Love seeing a shorter fifth wheel with all these bells & whistles. We are not a fan of a table or bench as we'd rather eat on the couch or at the breakfast island with stools - this is ideal for some of us. Would rather have a couch with recliners though (only thing we'd change).

I really like the huge sofa/sectional with the chaise lounge. You read my mind on the idea of putting a removable dining table in front of it to give you the option of eating there. It would be an easy addition for them to add and make the floor plan more versatile. Hopefully, they will see the value of it and make it available like that in the near future. The barstools are obviously necessary as the plan sits, right now. I could go either way on them if they added to removable dining table. Overall, this plan is a terrific use of a relatively short length!

First thing I thought when I saw the floorplan on this model was 'I bet I could find (or make) a small portable desk, put it under the huge rear window, and store when in transit'. For anything serious I'd definitely want a more dedicated setup. I think you could actually put a table in front of the TV and use an HDMI-out on a laptop/surface pro & turn it into an AMAZING work station

I didn't dislike the floorplan as much as I thought I would when you showed that design a few months back after your tour. One thing the wife noticed was how there's the possibility of damage to the slide out trim from the barstool. I'm sure she meant me! But the non access of the fridge and sink area when closed is a deal breaker for us personally. We love the size of the rig. We also like the color and design of the windows, pantry, entertainment system and the cabinets. The couch? Yeah not so much. Hopefully Montana will add an additional design to that same size, if they can. Very informative, thanks Josh.

Thanks for this! Love the length and how they achieved it. Bar stools are great. Few tweaks or options I'd like to see in the future. 1) Four cushion sofa with built in recliners. 2) Small folding desk table mounted to back wall (possible bar stool pull up height?). 3) Since they have the big windshield in bedroom, loose the side window to provide centered space for TV that wont interfere with closet access. P.S. We love the new video format and appreciate extra effort it takes!

I would never choose a backless stool over a soft dinette seat with a back to lean on, storage beneath, and a table for four, that also coverts to a bed. It seems cold and it seems cold and uninviting, lots of hard surfaces in light cold colors. I would prefer a warmer color scheme.

Great layout! The only dislikes are that huge couch/chaise and the weird bare rear wall. I would love a recliner option with some sort of small end table or floating shelf on the wall under the outlets next to the fridge. I would probably add some sort of trim or accents on the rear wall to add a little more interest. The entertainment slide, bring the tv and fireplace out further and the TV could be on a drop down with a window behind. I love the windshield window in the bedroom. My biggest pet peeve on the residential style 5'rs is the huge front closet. This gives great storage without dedicating a NY apartment to closet space.

Omg I adore that couch, I don’t know if it’s a recliner on the other end or not but that would be amazing! This RV has everything that I’m looking for in a short fifth wheel for full-time living except for an outside kitchen. I love the color scheme I’m so sick of those dark brown color schemes. I wish the closets were a little bigger for hanging items. But you can’t have everything I guess my husband will have to deal with all his clothes folded. 😝 I do wish you would have opened the freezer and fridge so I could have seen how big those were, freezer space is way more important to me than fridge space. Overall I love that layout. And I love the stools and little breakfast counter.

Great video as usual. Just like you mentioned so many of us are looking for a shorter 5th wheel with all the features. We have been looking for one since we saw it on the manufacture’s website. We finally got our hands on one a few days before Christmas. We were worried about storage coming from the 373RD, but the 281CK isn’t lacking. We have room to spare. I think most consumers would like the option of a recliner, but we easily swapped that out ourselves. Thank you for always making such thorough videos, your hard work and attention to detail is appreciated.

The bar stool thing is fine with me. I don't have a dining room at all in my house and almost never use the breakfast room table. I eat in front of the TV like everyone else. Would be nice to have a small table for the sofa that stows behind the sofa like in a Rockwood MIni-Lite 2109 or maybe against the rear wall on this unit. Like that it has the cat window in the bedroom so he has something to look at instead of bugging me.

Very cool RV. Costco has a nice folding table and chairs that would work great if you got tired of the stools. Keystone might consider a little shorter chaise, and a wall mounted folding small table below the back window. With a couple of small folding chairs, stored under the chaise. It would be nice to have a meal and look out the window, I think shorter is the way to go, thanks.

This is probably not the right rig for us, but I am really happy to see a Small true-Luxury model available. Seems like to get a really solid model with all the bells and whistles you also had to step up to models that were bigger than some might want. This is a great 5th wheel. Love it. Two improvements for the people at Keystone. 1. Major bummer that there is no ceiling fan. 2. A inverter outlet should have been placed in the kitchen area. I thought I saw two outlets but didn't look like they had a yellow sticker. Overall a great design.

If you just went and spent a few bucks on a lightweight residential coffee table to put in front of the sofa, store it on top of the bed or the sofa in transit and put the stools in outside storage or on the bed. Problem solved if you want a table for literally less than $45. I like the lounge on the sofa, I'd use that all the time. That kitchen is the perfect size, love the TV placement also, but the slide blinds would have to be closed because of the glare haha. The back wall needs some personalization because it looks bare but for the size of this thing, I'd own it if I could.

Holy moly man, I think I just found my new favorite floor plan!!!!! Love the couch/lounge, LOVE the kitchen and LOVE LOVE LOVE the breakfast bar cause who eats at a table now a days lol!! Love the bedroom and the bathroom could have a little bigger shower but I think that’s about the only complaint I have about this one lol!! And is this a new floor plan or just a floor plan that they kind of changed up?! And I also love how this one has the bigger two way fridge!!! The only other thing I would change, which is minor is the wheels! I like the wheels that came on last years Montana’s. But thats getting really picky there though lmao!!!

I love the light cabinets and woodwork also. To me, this is a great size for light er travel if, like us when we start doing full time rving, we will not stay some where longer than 3 week probably. Still it has all we need. It has a spot for a Christmas tree!!!!!!

I love this RV and the bar and stools. Love the shorter length. Would be nice to have a big table in front of the couch though. I hate the corner shower though. Too small, bigger showers are where it's at. Love the master bedroom with king bed.

Don't care for the sofa, would rather have two rocker recliner's and maybe an end table. Like the bar seating but would probably have to have a folding table for cards, puzzles and such.

Seeing the snow seen a video the other day from a dealer showing rv and there was snow on the steps. And it come to mind what our Wise Uncle Josh said put slides and steps up in the snow unless you are using rv. Keep up the good work Uncle Josh

I like this floorplan! The bar stools are cool! I love the amount of countertop space and the kitchen layout--compact but still a lot of storage. The L-shaped couch is great--and I'd make it a Dinofa too. The amount of natural light in the bedroom is awesome. I'm not in the market for a 5th wheel, but if I was (and I didn't have kids) this would be my top choice. I just wish it had an outdoor kitchen.

Love this one. The u-shaped kitchen with brkfst bar is my favorite. For those preferring a dinette, there are plenty of other options for you out there! If you want to play cards you could always get a card table.

Nope, not a fan of this floor plan. We have the Montana 294, it's only about two foot longer but you get a couch / bed, two recliners and a dinette, it's a much better lay out. The 294's floor plan gives enough room to have friends or family over to visit with out feeling cramped. Why don't other models have the longer bedroom slide like this 280 and the 294? That longer slid really opens the bedroom and bath. Josh, I love your videos, your the rare combination of salesman and teacher, GOOD JOB and thanks!

I think I've found my first RV! As a soon to be full time RVer who has never towed before, this floor plan is 98% perfect! The only thing I would change is the front window. I'd rather have a full closet across the front with more hanging space. I love the chaise sofa, the entertainment center, the breakfast bar dining, and the u-shaped kitchen. I'd add a combo washer/dryer and solar. Could really do some boondocking then!

I think the bar stools suck, wife does too! Really would like a SEPERATE table and sofa. Otherwise love the small Montana. Love the queen bed as it gives you more room in the bedroom to get dressed. Montana still needs to put outside kitchens in their units!

"Dinofa" works for us. We eat in front of the TV at home anyway. This one is ours. You'll have to put our name on it. It's basically the same front bedroom as the Keystone Avalanche only the Avalance has bigger closets. Which i like better. Also a larger egress window which I definitely need.
