Interesting. 70 percent of my playlist are soundtracks, too. The other part is a wild mix with sometimes more Industrial, EBM, Electronic. I guess that has something to do with the lack of dynamic range of "modern music". The "Loudness War" (see Wikipedia for that) has made it nearly impossible to enjoy music the way it's supposed to be. Classical music isn't affected that much because it's not played on radio or isn't relevant for "charts". Hans Zimmer is great, yes. But lately I Just some examples (to find on YT): Crossing Into Darkness (remastered) from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. / "Launch" from Man of Steel / "Lords of Kobol" from Battlestar Galactica / Jon Everist - Restoration (Start Menu) from the new Battletech game / Hans Zimmer - Time (Inception) / Ruelle - Madness / Valravn - Krummi / Front Line Assembly - Deadened / Depeche Mode - Going Backwards Hayley will not like this :-P --- Hip Hop hieß früher stottern und war heilbar.

I’m very new to the German language. I’m talking only 5 lessons in, in A1.1 level courses. Your videos where your speak German, like this one, are very inspiring. I really do hope I can become as good as you. Sehe nun zum ersten Mal diese Video von euch Beiden und dies ist jetzt schon 5 Jahre alt. Hayley, ich war zuvor schon über dein hervorragendes Deutsch mit den wenig verwendeten deutschen Einwürfen erstaunt. Vor allem vom dem nicht hörbaren, dem amerikanischen Englisch fast normalen „Kaugummi“-Akzent. Man glaubt eher, Du hast ein nativ deutschsprachiges Elternteil und wärst so zweisprachig aufgewachsen. Wie lange hast Du für diesen Wortschatz und Erlernen des Deutschen Tonfalls, Sprachklang gebraucht. So was zu erlernen ist schon irgendwie Wahnsinn und ist absolut kein Muss. Ich persönlich finde das sogar schön und manchmal auch süß. Bekannt ist ja z. B., dass die muttersprachlich französischen Menschen nur schwer oder gar nicht das deutsche „H“ sprechen können und ein Haus dann ein „Aus“ ist. Ja und? Sie wollen, wenn sie die Sprache sprechen wollen, dies auch tun. Genau so, wie ich es mit meinen ebenso wenig perfekten Englisch machen muss(te), bzw. nur kann. Ich war die letzten 10 Jahre meines Arbeitslebens beruflich in vielen europäischen Ländern mit Lieferanten in Kontakt und zuvor ca. nochmals 10 Jahre mit Kollegen der europäischen Werke unserer Firma. Englisch war da über die ganzen 20 Jahre die Kommunikationsbasis und alle nicht nativ englisch sprechenden Kollegen hatten die gleichen Schwierigkeiten, je nach Erfahrung. Das war schon toll, wie man am Ende immer einen Weg fand, auch wenn das Verstehen schon mal zwischendurch hakelte. Nun bin ich einige Jahre raus und schau mir bewußt Videos von Dir oder Sara und ihrer Familie (my merry mess life) oder anderen Ytuber an, um mein Verstehen des Englischen nicht zu verlernen. Was ich aber dabei auch sehr stark merke. Das Alltags-Englisch ist doch oft schwerer zu verstehen, als das Business Englisch von „Fachidioten“ in der Automobilbranche, wie ich es bei Ford D war, zumal wenn diese dann selber nach dem Wörtern suchen müssen.
