@@arbazakhtar4877 yes it was sad that people hated AoT being on the first spot so much they blooded it with literally tens of thousands of 1/10 votes, which are OBVIOUSLY fake. I mean, even if you do not like this show, like, at all, the artistic qualities like music, animation, voice acting and others are standing out for the genre SO MUCH that it is absolutely objectively inaccurate to put a single star on this episode, even if it was about two tomatoes rolling down the hill for 20 minutes. It's just factually wrong to do that, and yet, IMDB made no effort to fix it, even though they removed millions of similar votes from the shows like Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones in the past. It seems that even IMDB didn't think it's okay for some anime to take the first spot for the best epiosde of all time. And despite it all, it was STILL on the first place. It occupied that spot for OVER A YEAR before the down votes eventually took it down. This alone tells you what a masterpiece this episode is.

FunFact: This episode was the best rated episode of a TV show on IMDB around 2020 / 2021. For me personally, it is a 10 of 10, but not my favourite episode of AoT. Season 4 as a whole is so insane, that I can't choose to pick just one episode. The story as a whole is a 10 of 10 and every episode matters.

This arc, episode 16-18, is an emotional rollercoaster, and it doesn't get less emotional upon repeated viewings either, which is quite rare for any tv show. so, yes, fully agreed with 10 out of 10

To be very honest, and this comes from someone who has AOT as his favorite anime ever, this doesn't even come close to Ozzymandias. Is just one of the most well made action episodes in the history of television, but to be the best rated episode in general it would take more than just action. What Breaking Bad did deserves all the praise it got, it reached the peak of audiovisual art, every single aspect. So i can't even get mad at Breaking Bad fans because it's just fair.

Many of you probably know that Erwin's voice actor is also the voice actor of Jotaro from Jojo. And this time, the voice actor of Beast Titan is also the voice actor of Jojo's Dio. This was the second battle between the characters played by both voice actors. If the Beast Titan had thrown a road roller instead of a crushing stone, he might have lost to Erwin, who yelled "Oraoraoraoraora..." and threw a tremendous number of punches.

Several watches and a multitude of reaction videos later and all I find Is the opposite of desensitization to repeated stimuli. I knew about AoT since it began, but none of the promos ever made me feel I was missing out on anything but another odd anime with little to entice me. Started watching in 2020 (Thinking it was over now, and looking for something new to kill time during the pandemic.) and was stunned how this very oddly conceptualized world became better than any Anime (or Japanimation for you older folks. ;P ), Movie, or Novel I ever personally consumed.

This episode is so incredible to me because all I can think is "how it started" vs "how it's going". At the beginning of the series humanity was struggling to deal with pure titans and had never had a victory. Now, in the span of one episode they forcibly blew out or sliced out THREE titan shifters out of their titans, while simultaneously sealing the last hole to regain Shiganshina and Wall Maria territory. Despite massive casualties to the Survey Corps, this was a catastrophic loss for Reiner and Bertholdt and co. in spite of their planning and additional experience as titan shifters.

I remembered I can't stop crying at the end because this episode really hurt my head and my heart. I am emotionally drained. For a recap of emotional roller coaster of the episode: First you still *feel disbelieve* Erwin would be dead, then you *feel angry* how the Beast titan behave so evil and just kill everyone, then you *feel excited* because you know what about to come to the Beast titan, then you *feel really hype* all the adrenaline rush because Levi just so cool slaughtered the Beast titan, then you *feel satisfy* because Levi literally took down the Beast titan and stab him in the throat, then you *feel hopefull* because you taught Erwin can be revived, then *you panic* because the duck titan about to eat Levi, then you *feel angry again* because the Beast titan got away, then you *worried* if Levi can make it out from the titans since He has no horse and only one blade left, then you *feel excited again* because Armin might be found a way to beat Colosal titan, then you *feel confused* because Armin plan, then you *feel the tension* of the background music, the you *feel sad* because armin lying to eren, then *you wondering* why Armin didn't let go his anchor but at the same time *feel so proud* because he so genius, then you *worried* because Armin about to die, then you *feel so broke* because armin definetely die, then you *feel relieved* because Hange still alive, then *feel sad again* because Mikasa maybe will be in the range of the explosion, then you *feel angry* because Bertholdt has no sympathy and *you so stress* because too many happen in a short time, then you become *so shocked* because eren came out of nowhere, then *you feel nothing* when eren took bertholdt out, then you *feel so broke again* because of armin. Hah. You really need take a break for a moment after this episode.

This episode is an absolute masterclass in how you use visuals, music, and dialogue to send the viewers to depths of despair to the soaring peaks of joy (joy may not be the right word here) all in one episode. Of course, this wouldn’t have been possible without all the foundation they created since the beginning (if you didn’t care much about the characters, this episode wouldn’t hit as hard). What I’ve noticed with the Attack on Titan anime is that they do have these grouping of 3 episodes that are so powerful… like the previous episode, this one, and the following. They do this multiple times during the series where you will have buildup and then they hit you with a 3 episode series like this as the payoff…
