ANGIE JIM I am so sorry this took me so long to reply. You can send pics or videos to lucyspools@gmail.com Also, concerning not being able to get the lid on...is the filter the one that screws down on the top? Let me know...or send pictures. Lucy

hi Lucy any tips for a simple screw on air relief. hayward 4 point cross. I haven't been able to properly prime my pump because of this. The vsp cant stay primed under 3,400rpm. (I think its because of my old hayward sand filter s200)

Ankit j Hmmm...I don't think the air relief valve would prevent your pump from priming. Do you have a Jandy or Compool valve in front of your pump? When you turn your pump on, wait for a bit, then shut it off. Look to see if any water leaks out the valve stems or side of the lid. Or, put your ear to the valve to hear any air sucking in. It could also be your "old Hayward sand filter". When was the last time you cleaned it? A pool not priming can have many causes. Let me know if any of these tips help...I could give you a list of things to look for. (In fact, I may actually write up a list and post it on my website). Lucy

It was actually my jandy valve's grease port. It was filled with silicone sealant but had a pin sized hole in it. I filled the hole for now and will eventually get a neverlube model when I upgrade all my above ground pipes to 2". The water hose technique is the easiest to detect a simple suction side leak. I was lucky I was able to keep my finger over the hole with the pump off and noticed no more gurgling air bubbles. Thanks again Lucy, your videos and website are so helpful.

Ankit j Glad you located it. They actually make a plug for those old Jandy's. Also, you said you were going to "upgrade... to 2" If you have 11/2" underground, be forewarned that when you install 2", you're still going to be somewhat limited in your horsepower. In other words, I've seen many people do the same thing, but when they added a 2hp. pump the extra space in the pipes created a lot of air. Just wanted to give you a heads up. Good job in finding your air leak. Lucy

Sure...in fact I will be posting a couple more this week. Do you have anything you'd specifically want to learn? I have archives that we are editing, plus what ever comes up that hasn't been done yet. Thanks for watching, glad you are enjoying and hopefully learning from them. Lucy
