This animation hurt my eyes, and not because of the flashing colors, but because of the obvious and inconsistent use of 2D and 3D models. Hazard is the only one on his crew with a 3D model. Everyone else is either animated in 2D, or are just png's trying to get away with it. Same for all the guards, some png's, others 3D models moving like robots (even though they're clearly not omnics), and it's all super noticeable! I can't! Blizzard, please just pay your animators

In design, they perfectly encapsulate what they are - while having enough detail to flesh out the deeper parts (soldier being off the record for years, mercy fully taking on the angel persona). In lore, they were both (though mainly soldier) given a ton of space to explore their past and present situations. it's fine if that's your opinion, but I think it's important to understand when something is just your opinion vs something like this new character - an objectively bad design.

My imagination went way further than what team 4 did with this hero, am i the only one? I was really hoping this hero was like a part of a group of failed Moira experiments looking for revenge and wreaking havoc on oasis, kinda like the morlocks from x men. As a Spine 2D animator, I can safely say that these character animations with glow effects all over the trailer can be done in a week with no problem. The editor then does the compositing before the final render.
