Can someone help me out. I wanted to know the relationship between ancient Egypt and ancient nubia. On one end the Egyptians depict the Nubians as prisoners of war and an enemy nation. But they also credit Nubia as being their mother civilization
@XxLowDiskSpacexX3 ай бұрын
The nubians were a vassal state of egypt having been conquered in the past, they were required to pay tribute in gold, slaves and other resources to the Egyptians. They were excellent warriors and at times were used as personal body guards by pharaoh for.the royal family. People of higher social classes also wore nubian wigs for thier exceptional quality and style of braids. The nubians rebelled several times but were crushed each time. So they were enemies when they rebelled, but they were credited when they "behaved". There is almost no natural gold reserves in egypt itself so all it's vast wealth literally came from conquered nations, namely Nubia.
@GingerAlle171Ай бұрын
The relationship between the Ancient Egyptians and the Nubians was complex and multifaceted, evolving over thousands of years. It included periods of cooperation, trade, cultural exchange, as well as conflict and domination. Here’s a summary: Trade and Cooperation • Nubia, located south of Egypt along the Nile (in present-day Sudan), was rich in resources such as gold, ivory, ebony, and exotic animals. • The Egyptians relied on Nubian trade routes for these valuable goods, and Nubia played a key role in Egypt’s economy. • There was significant cultural exchange between the two civilizations, as evidenced by Nubian influence on Egyptian art, religious practices, and even their military. Conflict and Conquest • Egypt often sought to control Nubia to secure access to its resources and trade routes. This led to military campaigns, particularly during the Middle and New Kingdom periods. • During the New Kingdom (c. 1550-1070 BCE), Egypt established control over Nubia and set up administrative centers and temples to consolidate its influence. Nubian Rule Over Egypt • In a dramatic reversal, during the 8th century BCE, Nubia became powerful enough to conquer Egypt. The Nubian kings, known as the 25th Dynasty or the Kushite Dynasty, ruled Egypt from c. 744-656 BCE. They adopted Egyptian culture, religion, and governance but retained elements of their own Nubian traditions. • The Nubian rulers, such as Piye and Taharqa, emphasized their legitimacy by restoring and building temples in Egypt, presenting themselves as the true preservers of Egyptian tradition. Cultural Integration • Despite conflicts, there was intermarriage and a blending of cultures. Many Nubians served in the Egyptian military, often as skilled archers, earning them the nickname “The Bowmen of Kush.” • Egyptian religious practices heavily influenced Nubia, but the Nubians adapted and developed their own unique traditions, such as the worship of local deities like Apedemak alongside Egyptian gods. Legacy • Even after Egyptian dominance waned, Nubia, particularly the Kingdom of Kush, remained a significant power and continued to interact with Egypt culturally and politically. • Both civilizations left lasting legacies in architecture, art, and governance, showcasing their deep connections despite periods of rivalry. Their relationship exemplifies the dynamics of neighboring civilizations, marked by mutual influence, competition, and cooperation.

Well, Egypt was mentioned in the first book of the Bible. Whether you believe in the Bible or not, the book of Genesis was written anywhere from 2600-3400 years ago (depending on who you believe) so they knew about Egypt way back then....
@anarchy_792 күн бұрын
@@samjohnson7869 It's absurd, I've read so damned much about prehistoric societies and earlier on, and there's simply 0% chance the timeline is correct... The pyramids are way older than the Egyptians. Why isn't there a single mention, reference or even depiction of the pyramids or the building thereof in the entirety of Egyptian history and culture in any place anywhere, Hieroglyphic or otherwise? Seems kind of pretty very weird to me, but then again, I'm not a all-knowing scholar grown up within a iron-clad paradigm of history...
@anarchy_792 күн бұрын
In fact, I checked, and: "There’s an almost absolute absence of contemporaneous, explicit records attributing the construction of [ANY OF] Egypt’s most colossal monuments-pyramids, massive temples, or colossal statues-to the pharaohs supposedly responsible. This lack of documentation is especially odd given how obsessively the Egyptians documented their achievements, down to mundane victories and minor temples." So not only the pyramids, but the Sphinx, and basically every single stone monument in Egypt has no trace in writing or is even mentioned, beyond what pharaohs claimed was their doing, over and over and over for thousands of years. All the while there IS specific writing, and plenty of it, saying that even to the Egyptians, these monuments were all absolutely ancient. Food for thought...

Egypt was called Kemet long before the flood. That turned the soil black, Kemet was the name because of the black people that lived there. So I guess the Keketism religion was named after the dirt also. WOW it's just down right defiance to believe the inhabitants of anchient Egypt (Africa) wasn't black, was the ancient Europeans white?
@GingerAlle171Ай бұрын
Ancient Egypt was often referred to as Kemet (or Kmt) by its inhabitants, which translates to “the Black Land” in their language. This name likely referred to the rich, dark, fertile soil deposited by the annual flooding of the Nile River, which was essential for agriculture and life in the region. The term distinguished the fertile areas along the Nile from the surrounding desert, which was called Deshret, meaning “the Red Land”. The name underscores the importance of the Nile’s life-giving waters and its role in sustaining the civilization. The dark soil was a stark contrast to the barren, reddish desert sands, emphasizing the dichotomy between life and survival (the Black Land) and the harsh, arid environment (the Red Land). This concept was central to the Egyptians’ worldview and reflected in their mythology and culture.

U will also learn how sub-Saharan cultures moved up into North Africa/Green Sahara, and then moved east to the Nile and established the lower Egyptian culture/civilization. Ancient Egyptians were before anything else - Africans. They resembled current Africans in Libyan and Ethiopia. The Influx of Levantine/European Mediterranean blood - did happen in North Africa. But ancient Egypt was not Arab looking as it is nowadays . Arabs conquered Egypt only in 700 A.D., - oppression of the black population followed. Know your facts , stop spreading misinformation‼️
