But it is unreliable. If you take 10 eye witness accounts of the same incident, they can vary wildly.

Zapruder went by himself to the film lab and had it developed and watched it there with a group of others. I am unsure if the lab split the double 16mm roll into one continuous 8mm reel. However, he evidently had three copies made, so there were three copies and one in-camera original reel. The paths of those are still a big mystery to me. Evidently he gave a copy to the Secret Service and/or the FBI. Idk. Doug Horne's delineations might be the most accurate.

Oswald lied to police about his whereabouts during the shooting. Oswald was inside a building where no unidentified persons were ever found by anybody. Oswald was a perfectly plausible match to the shooter seen in the window. Oswald was the only employee inside the building during the shooting to immediately flee the plaza and never return. Oswald shot a cop and was caught red-handed trying to shoot a second cop. Oswald just shrugged a hollow, rambling reply when asked on live TV, "Did you shoot the President?"
