It's sad that we all have to get old...I never thought about it but Sammy is 72!...I mean, I watch the videos, listen to the music thinking time has stopped, frozen. I then realize that I am old too and this is what I'm left with...awesome memories. I'll never accept getting older. I've seen VH everytime they came to Dallas!
@devinaxtman61714 жыл бұрын
Hearing this puts a tear in my eyes. The heart, soul, and feeling he had for his playing was unriveled. The king of harmonics, fills and tapping. Its just sad we won't get to hear anything new from him ever again. The great thing is at least, we had a solid 20+ years of albums and tours to listen to. I am so glad Sammy and him regained their love for one another earlier this year, even if it wasn't publicized. As a fan though, I can't say that I am not sad to see them not get to play together one last time and rekindle that flame. It was a nostalgia trip a lot of fans wanted to see.

Sadly, when they invited Dave back to the band, he refused to sing Sammy songs from the band.

We might be able to hear something unheard of from him since he was sitting on thousands of written riffs/solos in his 5150 studio. Nonetheless, this loss is still so hard to accept.

They wrote better music with Dave, but Sammy was the better singer. Also aside from 7 songs (Why Can't This Be Love, Dreams, Love Walks In, When It's Love, Feels So Good, Can't Stop Lovin' You and Not Enough), Van Hagar was NOT a pop sellout and was the same hard rock sound as the Roth years.
