i've seen a-lot of ppl say that cause the season is only 8 episodes, Hazbin has had to speed run so much and I have to say thats silly, they speed run cause they don't know how to manage the episodes time think about it the pilot was 30 min long and it had three songs and it still felt rushed I feel the songs and the info dumping is the main issue, when your working on anything animated you have to balance your time very carefully since every second counts so when you prioritize the music more then the story then your forced to speed things along making the story suffer. I do wanna be clear the songs are great but two might have been to many for such a character driven show not only that we have SEVEN main characters to get to know yet after watching up to episode 6 I barely know any of them hell Niffty still hasn't even sang and Sir P sang before her? not fair

@@LovesArt23 Personally, I don't think there should be a war with Heaven. This a story about redemption and what it means to be a good person. It should focus on the characters then have the first season end with an audience with Heaven. In that regard, I think the season 1 antagonists should've been the V's and Lucifer, The V's are the sinner's villains and Lucifer's is Charlie (I don't mind Lucifer being goofy, but don't strip the guy of his most prominent traits, his pride, his cunning, his ability to induce terror, but most importantly, his intense disgust with humanity.) He loves Charlie, but Charlie doesn't want to talk to him; he thinks her Hotel is phase she'll outgrow in a century or millennia, but when she makes headway with Heaven with her Hotel, he starts becoming more manipulative, monstrous, still claiming how he loves his daugther, but doing horrible things to the patrons, maybe even burn down the hotel. Sorry if these posts bother you, but... the show had so much potential, and it squandered it on an impotent war between a neutered Hell and an incompetent Heaven.

Repeat after me : Fillers 👏🏻 are 👏🏻 important 👏🏻 People always mocked SU or shows like Amphibia for having too many, but at least It made me care about the characters 😬 The show is going so fast that I don't care about anything that's going on... Like, the "Vaggie was an Angel" reveal was out of nowhere for me and I couldn't care less about Charlie's chock because I had no time to be invested in their relationship... I wished they took more time, cause it took me out completely out of the show

I liked the review and agree about the pacing. Though Adam definitely should've been more of a holier than thou guy. Adam shouldn't be swearing for example, but he should be low key insulting Charlie and Hell throughout the meeting. The rest of the Hazbin's Hotel cast should be trying to help a guest when Charlie is gone, failing until Nifty takes charge with her house wife skills, earning them a new guest or potentially scaring the guest off from Nifty's overzealous attitude towards housekeeping.

Kinda agree on the swearing and corrupt thing for Adam and the angels, it just makes Heaven look like Hell but with a pastel recolor. I don't mind the 'Heaven might be not what it seems' but I wish it was revealed until later in the season, preferably when Charlie and Vaggie go to heaven.

I think it wouldve been funny if Heaven has a built in censor, similar to TADC having a built in censor. Like, just imagine Adam trying not to curse, not just because he's trying to look good but mostly because the bleeps annoy him so much. Also, maybe they shouldve adjusted the story, especially the reason for the extermination cuz the book already told Charlie the reason why the exterminations happened. Maybe if it stuck to "Heaven is just helping out with the overpopulation" or something, it wouldnt look like Charlie is being stupid for pushing for Heaven to take them in

One thing i found SO unnerving about this episode is how much it feels like a second episode. I know the pilot is there and i did watch It, but i found extremely dumb to count on everyone watching a pilot on KZbin. And theres also parts in the pilot that are not canon anymore, its so confusing and gives so much whiplash. This and the absurd pacing issues are the ridiculously small amount of episodes. I really REALLY hate the people who thought 8 was a good amount of episodes per season. This feels like It should have atleast 13 episodes

The way I interpreted it is essentially saying that Charlie is only still alive because her dad is Lucifer and that if the exorcists could kill Charlie they would. She's not being kept alive because she's important, but because they aren't allowed to kill her

One thing i realized is how the show really puts effort in trying to make Heaven look REAL bad, even adding things that dont even make sense to do so. For me, Heaven should be more morally grey, y'know? Their reasons could be appear more. And a part that is really weird is how Sera's assistant or smth says "Omg yall are killing innocent people in hell???" When.... they are killing sinners, murderers, grapists, people who ruined lives. So idk about the whole "hell good heaven bad" kinda thing

I think it would've fit better if Adam made comments or 'praises' like: "You're nice for a demon" or stuff like that. Because it feels like a praise, but he would actually be saying the demons usually aren't nice. I thought of this because we, humans, sometimes give praises like this to people of other ethnicity, when it's actually a racist kind of thing..

I really feel like Adam is a lot of wasted villian potential. They could have made him very interesting by writing him as more of a revenge driven charackter, who hates Lucifer and Lilith for getting him and Eve kicked out of Eden and, from his point of view, ruining his legacy by giving humans (his offspring) the ability to sin and choose evil. Heck, if Viv wanted him to be a toxic jerk so bad, he could still get sadistic pleasure out of slaugtering sinners; because while they may be technically his decendants too, they chose to "side with" Lilith and Lucifer, and thous shame Adam. Like: "They betrayed me by being naughty, so they deserve me mass-murdering them once a year." (Wich could also work as a coping mechanism, if Adam is supposed to get more complex and simpathetic later on. Like, he tells himself that the sinners deserve no second chances, only a second death, in order to deal with having to kill them. Wich heavens elders could frame as a holy justice he must carry out, by virtue of being the first man and thous having a responcibility to "dicipline" his offspring. Subtley implying that this task is his punishment for eating the apple too, when Eve offered it to him.) As for his interacitions with Charlie, it could have been less in a "bruh, misagony" kind of way (god, that was so cheap), and more of a "your the daughter of my ex and my personal nemesis, so I hate you by default, even though I do not know you. The only reason I'm not killing you on the spot, is that for some reason I'm not allowed to. So, since I'm a very by the book kind of guy, with zero self-awareness about my own afflictions with pride and wrath, I'm just gonna be an ass to you throughout this whole conversation, until you start singing about how sinners are just poor and misunderstood people who deserve a second chance, so I can get pissed off/triggered and pull out my guitar to sing my own song about hell being forever, wheter you like it or not."

I don't know if that's true or not but the creator had a lot of time to work on Hazbin, way before Amazon got involved but I know she doesn't take constructive criticism well because she gets pissy when people point out flaws that need attention. I understand some companies may not give creators a lot of wiggle room but it seems like the creator does the bare minimum and just expects everyone to praise her for it

Alright, maybe this will be hot take, but I'm gonna say it anyway. I immensely dislike this depiction of Adam just being a misogynistic and generally dumb dude. Maybe this is because I've read a lot of books and interpretations about the being cast out of Paradise story, but I really miss the nuance in his character. Like, Adam and Eve are arguably among the most interesting characters in human history, with a lot of lore, history and symbolism behind them. So this version of Adam is just so disappointing to me. I just wish he was a more morally grey character.

I’m slowly getting more used to Husk’s new voice choice, I love the VA he’s great! But I still prefer the pilot VA. I also really wished they played up Alastor’s radio voice effects, like I loved that there was static sounds that followed his movements! I mean there were some but it all felt really watered down and I agree on the accent slips from Angel, it was really noticeable and kinda confusing. Honestly out of all the episodes episode one was my least favorite, it was just all over the place, even on rewatch it felt like it was doing too much yet too little at the same time. I wish it only focused on the commercial part and then had the meeting with Adam come in a later episode or something.

The whole exorcist thing to me was a cool surprise in my opinion, and yeah I do agree that I wish we could’ve waited for the surprise to, but my MAIN issue that leaves a bad taste in my mouth is the fact the (SPOILERS FOR ANYONE WHO HASNT SEEN EPISODE 3 ) CARMILLA was the one to kill the exorcist. I was really mad that we couldn’t have waited to see who had done it especially since we have NO relationship with Carmilla at all and barely any info about her so it makes me mad how we couldn’t have waited to see who actually killed the exorcist. I also think that Carmilla killing it was a bad idea amd it should’ve been someone else(?) I’m not sure who, but idk I found episode 3 really annoying because of that. I would really love to see more reviews from you of Hazbin Hotel because they’re so cool and I love the ideas and everything you put into theorizing!

Agreed. I wanted to see more about of how Hell reacted to the dead exorcist and the fact that Heaven is doubling down. Like ye, some of the characters mentioned that all the sinners just started nihilistically killing and fucking each other more, Vox started taking advantage of the situation to promote a new product and the Vs plan on fighting heaven but I really wanted to see more. Like, I wanna see some sinners who want to live and go full witch hunt to find the guy who doomed them all or heck, maybe we do get some sinners getting desperate to not die so they register at the hotel and they try to rush their redemption. Hell, maybe we get some sinners and even overlords sharing same/similar opinions as the the Vees and want to fight back. We could even have Charlie try to find the killer out of some misguided idea of bringing them to justice to appease heaven into not doubling down on the genocide. Also, ye it really shouldve been Lilith that was revealed to be the killer. Like if my ex husband does a yearly genocide on my people, I too would get murderously angry. Hell, I could see it as Lilith trying to inspire the sinners into rising up like "SEE? THEY CAN BE KILLED! NOW FIGHT BACK!" only to be disappointed that only a small number are actually thinking of fighting back while her daughter is even trying to suck up to Heaven

I am italian, and i have been watching HH both in English and Italian, and i must say (aside from the fact that the VA of Alastor is Donkeys from sherk and Vox's is King Julien lol) the voice actor chosen for Angel is fricking great!!! It has exactly the same voice just in another language. And fortunately they didnt give him south accent to make it sure we understand he was in the mafia

12:14 I think I miss Alastor’s nassaly voice more than anything because it’s very accurate considering the time period he lived in. I had a big problem with Adam because he is an angel and Angels don’t cruss and Adam was crussing like a sailor. I just don’t like the crussing problem with angels. Plus the introduction of angels are not good the long clothes are too much for me.

I am going to state something that I saw in another video about Hazbin, that the book Charlie was reading is leaving out a lot of details and is more "how I met your mom" kind of story and less on actually explaining what happened to everything. Also this might just be me but my original impression of the extermination was to "handle overpopulation in Hell" and in episode 6 they were making it sound like "the sinners are angry and will try rising up against heaven" like that part confuses me what is the ACTUAL reason the exterminations started or is the overpopulation thing just what they tell to the sinners almost making it sound like Lucifer made a deal with Heaven like "yeah I'm getting too many people down here, Heaven can ya give me a hand with this? I'll give you a rubber duck in return!"

Random, but I wanna know what happened to Eve. She's the only one from the opening who's gone unseen and unmentioned from that point. Lucifer's "gift" ended up being a curse, and Heaven made her to be Lilith's submissive replacement to Adam. Girl must have some thoughts on all this.

I wish the budget went more to the episodes instead of the cast cause I would’ve like to feel like I was watching a show, I mean when Charlie **spoilers** found out Vaggie is an Angel it felt like when Blitz and Stolas had that fight after season 1, it felt like it never happened and I just watched a speed run of redemption

Actually, that's not what I meant; I'm not saying that you should be Christian/Catholic in order to go to Heaven, all I'm saying is that there are Goths, members of the L.G.B.T.+ community and even Witches that are good people and everyone including Christians/Catholics shouldn't consider those people as sinful or evil as along as they're good people and don't do extremely bad things (And even if they do, they should redeem themselves), be appropriate at the right place and right time and use their magic for good rather that evil. Since in the plot there was an extermination a few hours ago, and ep 1 starts off with an extermination, which means 2 happened in 1 month when the big twist was its beginning moved up. I really don’t like the intro info dump I was really hoping that it wouldn’t make Lucifer and Lilith blameless for the events that lead to the fall of humanity and it would instead be more complicated with everyone having a hand and made choices that they shouldn’t have but no Adam is just a terrible person and the apple was a honest accident (also the apple wasn’t free will it was the knowledge of good and evil that’s why the snake tempted Eve to eat it if she didn’t have free will she wouldn’t have been able to eat it at all because she wouldn’t have free will in the first place! I just hate that part so much) also this part is a nit pick I know but the curse words are kinda lazy you can be really creative with your insults and curses but they kinda just stick with the basics which with the frequency the words are used made me zone out often. I know it’s an adult show so of course there’s cursing but it doesn’t need to be every second almost and you can put some creativity in the curses instead of saying fu*k and dick all the time (censoring for YT because they have been weird lately).

Yeah, I especially had the same problem with the apple turning into free will instead of knowledge (especially with what you said if she didn’t have free will how she chose to bite the apple in the first place?) I saw a great comment perfectly describing the religious problems of the show, they are basically surface level uses/feel like the only textual source used was paradise lost (which is basically demon bad boy religious fanfic). Like one of the biggest is saying Lucifer is the ruler of hell, when he’s only a fallen angel in charge of the pride ring, satan is the true ruler/ultimate evil (everyone conflates him Lucifer and beelzebub as the same guy). The show and it’s sister series helluva boss just want to use the names but have zero interest in exploring the actual Christian mythos/lore. If they did they could actually explore the concept of redemption in more interesting ways and make the villains etc feel more complex & with deeper motivations instead of protagonist beliefs are right because they are said by the protagonist who is always right.

The funny thing is the author of the book paradise lost revealed in letters to other authors at the time that the whole point of the book was that Lucifer was an unreliable narrator. He lied so much and was so prideful that he basically gaslight himself into believing his own lies about himself being the victim of everything and not the cause of his own downfall. But no one I’ve encountered seems to have understood that. Granted I wouldn’t have known if I didn’t dig into the history of the author. Slightly unrelated bit of information he got in a lot of trouble writing paradise lost from other people even straight up death threats because no one at the time understood his book hence the letters to his other authors friends reassuring him he wasn’t a demon simp.@@christopherauzenne5023

Considering how the story is unfolding, (purely from seeing episodes 1-6, so I might disagree with myself after seeing 7-8) I wonder if the whole "an angel is killed" storyline would have worked better for season 2. Drop it and season 1 hypothetical becomes more focused on just the core cast and their interactions, and people, who haven’t seen the pilot or consumed any other media about them, can be better introduced to them. This is definitely a half-baked idea, but I do wonder if it would have solved some of the season's pacing issues.

Yey!!! I'd been waiting on your review since it dropped! I feel so much of your points. I feel episode 1 should have been just remaking the pilot because without it you are just entering blind and the telling isn't good when you can be shown, and a lot was shown better in the pilot imo; I don't think a 1-1 remake but at least focusing on getting Angel on the hotel (because afaik that was on a comic and many woldn't read them unless they were a big fan 5 years ago). Pacing do feels so fast, and it kinda saddens me because a lot of points are cool, but they feel like they happen too early (mainly Charlie and Adam's meeting and the dead angel reveal)

I have rewrites for each episode - The narration explaining how hell came to be is fine, but instead of Charlie narrating it, it's done by Alastor who's broadcasting the carnage of the extermination throughout hell with the help of Husker and Nifty - which btw, it isn't relegated to solely Pride. Instead it takes place throughout all seven of the rings as Sinners are placed within the one that best fits the sin they committed the most. - Charlie and Vaggie are watching the carnage with sorrowful yet determined expressions as the camera pans down to Charlie's phone, which shows a text from Lucifer asking her to go in his place to the meeting with Adam and Lute. - We then cut to the seven deadly sins and the Overlords (overlords are contracted souls to the seven deadly sins. These contracts happen while they're still on earth and are essentially deals to let them survive longer until they die. For example, Alastor made a deal with Lucifer to evade capture during his time as a serial killer) discussing the extermination and the wars to come between lesser demons over unclaimed/newly available territories. Lucifer isn't a goofball in this, but instead a force to be reckoned with. He oozes authority, especially when he puts Velvette (who's arrival still follows canon) in her place, saying that if it weren't for Asmodeus taking a mild interest in her love potions and Valentino's movies, they wouldn't have their statuses Also the meeting doesn't have that reveal regarding the exorcist - Lucifer then questions Alastor about the hotel and its effectiveness. In this, he doesn't see Charlie's idea as a failure but rather a chance to get back at God and show that he isn't an infallible being (because what's a better way to get back at his father than sending those he deemed unworthy of heaven to his doorstep). Alastor explains it's going well as its first patron - Angel - is making a slow effort to be redeemed. (Also some characterization! Charlie isn't this overly enthusiastic/optimistic girl who believes everyone can be redeemed and hates to use her authority and thus isn't taken seriously Instead she's just as terrifying as her father and leaves everyone trembling in her wake. Angel Dust doesn't join the hotel for free housing (assuming the comics are canon), instead he's become disillusioned with his life as Valentino's favorite toy to the point he has to fake pleasure both on and off camera. This is where his front of being flirtatious comes from. He's trying very hard to redeem himself with Charlie's program (which is more like a rehabilitation center than a hotel) but it's only to get away from Valentino and his abuse, not to become a better person or even see his sister again (who's canonically in heaven) - We then cut to Angel looking through texts from Valentino - who hopes he both lived and died in the extermination. Valentino is begging Angel to come back to him, promising to be better and to go back to how things first were before he signed his soul away. Angel mutes all notifications after this and clears his face of tears. - The episode then cuts to Charlie arriving to the meeting before ending on Adam and Lute being introduced by an attendant as Charlie sends him a sickly sweet smile.

My first impression of the show is that they completely skipped season 1 and went straight to season 2. I understand wanting to shove everything you wanted to cover in season 1 into the alotted 8 episodes. But I think this would have worked out better for them if they did Infinity Train route of chugging along and telling the story they way it needed to be told, no comprimising pacing for the sake of getting 2/3/4 whatever seasons of story into one. Props to Vivzie for getting her show, sucks that the showrunners felt pressured to shove a two season story into a single 8 episode season.

My issue with Hazbin Hotel has been the pacing it gives me the same issues as Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood it expects you to already be familiar with the characters, which isn't good for first timer watchers/fans, so it bomb rushes into world building. When it comes to the voices in the first episode Vaggie, Charlie, and Nifty are fine nothing I would really change about them other than how they need to be better written. Husk's voice I got used to especially after episode 4 which made me love him more, but it took me listening to Poison multiple times to get used to Roman's voice since I was still attached to Michael's, due to the amount of livestreams he was in to help promote the show as well Bosco's. I still prefer Bosco's voice for Alastor due to him giving Alastor a southern/Louisianan accent in livestream, which help me understand Alastor's heritage a lot more. While Alastor's current VA is great at being an intimidate factor. (Lol sorry for this long ass rant 😅)

Want to know what’s the worse thing about Adam’s character. He’s meant to be hated/is the bad guy because he is uncaring to Charlie’s cause, acts like an asshole, and is willing to murder countless people. Want to know who is also like that, EVERYONE IN HELL and yet we are meant to act like they deserve to be redeemed/are just poor souls but Adam doing basically the same thing is meant to be seen as bad, it’s sorta clear hypocrisy. Vivzie wants her protagonist characters to be assholes and love them for it but the antagonist also be similar assholes and hate them for it. Or alternatively she makes azmodeus or beelzebub basically not their sin (ones lust but is in a committed relationship and the other is gluttony but tries to stop overindulging) yet mammon is greed and acts like his sin and is expecting to be seen as evil, so your method of making these sins likable is by removing as much of their sin as possible so they don’t look bad

Also Vivienne Medrano and some writers wroted on Twitter that they really love Adam, he is one of the favorite characters and how they have fun writing him. Also you missing the point, that Adam is perfect antagonist for Charlie, because he's complete opposite. Charlie is a demon, but as person she's actually an angel, and does not conform to society in hell, she showed all 7 virtues in the first episode, and want resolve a problem peacefuly. Same with Adam but it's opposite, he is an angel, but he acts no different from sinners, he showed all 7 deadly sin for the first episode and he wants resolve problem with violence. Also they're both have their partner with an x ​​on their eye, who always follow and supports any ideas of those they love.

Okay, I’ve definitely been too harsh with saying that the show is super rushed. That’s only part of the problem- You are right, they try to do too much within a 22 minute time frame. And I know with episode 1 being the first episode in nearly five years, they obviously wanted to put in as much as possible because “Hey look everybody!! A new episode!!” And you’re also right, while the songs are great, having two songs per episode is a bit much. You can be a musical series without having a number every episode. Look at Tangled the Series!! Which 10/10, best show, has the best science boi, who is also in Hazbin disguised as a depressed short king-

I think the writers didn’t know how to separate their story between seasons and instead probably panicked and mushed them all together into one season. Most show runners don’t know if they’ll get all of the seasons they want/need so what they’ll usually do is write a satisfying ending for each season that either allows for more stories or have the ending really easy to switch in case a new season is announced mid production. I think the best way to separate the story is to have the first season focus on redeeming the main cast. They’re all in hell for a reason and it not only feels hypocritical to have sinners who haven’t been redeemed run the hotel but Charlie is the only one that actually wants to help people. Vaggie doesn’t even seem to share Charlie’s goal, she seems to be there mostly to support Charlie. And considering how there’s 8 episodes, I think that’s plenty of time for this concept. Then another season can be spent on redeeming sinners from all across hell and receiving opposition from other overlords or even other sins. Until finally reaching season 3 with the war of heaven. I think Heaven had such an interesting mystery behind it but not only are they speed running the mystery but they ruin any intrigue by having Adam act like a douche, of course Heaven’s not all that great with someone like him there. But weirdly enough, I don’t find the idea of him being misogynistic bad cause he absolutely was in the original story. I think a better take would be to give him a “holier than thou” personality and have him present absolute obedience to heaven and authority, especially since it would be a nice contrast to the free will that Lucifer and Lilith gave Eve. Anyway, that’s my spiel. It seems the show’s just trying to get by on vibes alone so I hope that at least the season finale will be fun.

Anyway lol, how i would re write this episode is sort of just fuse it with the pilot? but also cut a bunch of stuff out? i wouldn't include all the characters yet, maybe just Charlie, Vaggie, and angel (maybe al and nifty too? (i say that and not husk because i think you said no to him (also I'm not telling you how to do this lol I'm just letting my brain ramble using some of your ideas, you can use this if you'd like))). Id just try to do a evenly paced introduction to mainly the hotel and Charlie since they are the main premise. I'd save heaven for way later, since as you said, if Charlie sees heaven as corrupt, why would she even want to do this using heaven? also revealing Vaggie was an angel this early was not good- i mean yeah it was so obvious though the show which i also hate. instead of being fed i feel like I'm being water-boarded with information here, so quick too like i don't even know how to process what i just saw. I hate when they say "The people of hell just made some mistakes" Did pedophiles just make a mistake? Did mass murderer's just make a mistake? Did abusers just make a mistake? Putting aside that horrifically evil people don't deserve forgiveness or redemption in the slightest The show wants to go all ham and haw about redemption but instead of unpacking that some people are too far gone for that, But rewrites heaven's extermination as them being trigger happy so they can justify not giving any complexity to the situation. Also really sick of the teams unwillingness for designing POC features, at this point I believe their terrified of said features cause Sera (from what I've heard) is supposed to be black yet again she's not only given the same sharp pixie cut hairline every female character has on helluva boss but also isn't given those features.

I think that's why I can't get into the show. I understand it's fiction but at the same time it's a story, a story with conflict and plot. And for something as heavy as redemption, heaven and hell - who goes where, it doesn't want to tackle hard topics such as that. Like, this is an adult show, shouldn't the story discuss complex topics? And not just be full of cringey sex jokes and a bunch of mindless swears? But instead it looks like we're getting "heaven is just as bad" like huh?! That's fine if stories take the "the seemingly good place isn't what you think it is" but I don't think that works here. And yes! Thank you for mentioning the lack of POC features especially when it comes to Alastor and Cera (sp?) I understand these characters aren't human but that doesn't negate the fact that they still can't have features that shows the audience what their ethnicity was or having that representation for POC. PLENTY, of other characters in other shows aren't human but with the features they have, you can still distinguish that they're black, mixed, etc and I just don't know why Viv and her team don't want to touch on that...

@ophiescurse YESS. I would die to see a story where people from different time periods interact. But the characters here just look like random colorful animals with modern clothing or bowties. And it's not like you can't have anthro animals with specific clothing styles. Lackadaisy did it well. I know it's a lot of reasearch, I don't like doing that either, but if that's what she choose-

I feel like the 'redemption' thing, hell, even the side order of 'Heaven lowkey sucks', COULD potentially work, IF they went the 'getting sent to Hell for bullshit reasons while vile people who repented on their deathbed can ascend' route. As it is, showing it as a repository for the worst of the worst and then doing the redemption thing kinda...falls flat? And, forgive me if I'm stepping on anyone's toes here, that would actually be more in line with both actual theology and modern Christianity. Actual theology in the sense of all sins being equal and not believing in the Christian god being literally all it takes to be condemned, and modern Christianity with regard to _no one being able to agree on what counts as a sin._

it's this kind of situation where I can pretty much see the flaws on the episode and at moments some stuff was just insufferable yet I somewhat enjoyed it and the rest of the episodes, I can see a lot of things that are wrong, but all in all I still love Hazbin Hotel I wasn't gonna say this, but two songs on each episode felt overwhelming when I was around the third episode and I heard they were about to sing I seriously had to pause a little

EXACTLY! It's also weird since characters do invoke God's name, in both this show and Helluva Boss, but also there are crosses on the Heaven Embassy. That must mean that Jesus exists since crosses are a symbol associated with him in particular, and his whole thing is being the Son of God.

I've been waiting for someone to talk about the off-model stuff! One of the BIGGEST mistakes I noticed was after the last trust building exercise (I can't remember which episode since I binged them in quick succession), when Angel Dust is talking to Sir.P, he becomes a cyclops. For 4 seconds. 2 blink cycles of this poor spider losing 4 of his eyes.

The whole "Angels made humans" thing isn't as strange as you might think. Cartoon Universe channel could say it better than me but basically some religions and even some reiterations of common Bible stories have described "God" as more of a slumbering being who's will is made and carried out by lesser beings of his domain. These being the Angels. So it makes since in the context of Hazbin (which is a mishmash of various versions or religions) for this to be the case. Not to mention Sera seems to be filling that position of "God" as she is the highest of the Seraphim, which are the highest rank of angels. Meaning she'd be the highest ranking being in Heaven, and she was shown to be one of the ones who created Adam and Lilith

I have been dying to know your thoughts on the first episode! And honestly some of your points are valid! It would have been better imo if a sinner tried to get redeemed but get scared off by the cast like u said! Ps im glad im not the only who thinks angels shouldnt swear and honestly adam was annoying abit but his song slaps!. My honest thoughts the animation is lovely yeahh the came movement during the first song made me kinda dizzy and the fact charlie and vaggie chose alastor out of all ppl to make a televised commercial for the hotel is funny XD honest rating 6.9/10

I loved Hazbin hotel and the show because I'm oblivious to flaws to stuff I like a lot. It as I understood the problem's the more I had my own problems I feel could of been solved. Example the extermination day being the finale which I question why? The main conflict is now gone not for good but why. I think the first season should of been about introducing everyone each character having their own dedicated episode meanwhile also pushing the plot of them attempting to experiment with the Hazbin Hotel

The series being rushed is such a valid criticism, and it's the root of my problem with the show so far. Not gonna lie, I thought that the events of episodes 1-6 had taken place over 2 months, 3 months max. I was shocked when episode 6 said that the rescheduled exterimination was in 1 month. Maybe I missed some other timeline cues, but I feel like in six episodes I would've caught at least one cue on the timeline of events in the show so far.
