I think I'm gonna love Hazbin Hotel just based off of this pilot episode haha, such an interesting plot in general but also so freaking funny.

Love Hazbin Hotel pilot and series. Faye Mata who voiced Katie Killjoy also voices Myne from Rising of the Shield Hero. The characters names are Charlie, Vaggie, Angel Dust, Alastor the Radio Demon, Husk, and Nifty.

I.M.P. isn't set in the wrath ring. IMP Headquarters is in the Pride ring so that they can see Sinners, who are confined to the pride ring. However they do travel a lot. Episode 5 takes place in Wrath, 7 in Lust, 8 in Gluttony, and a few episodes in Greed.

@@endgamer7896 Yeah, I know the I.M.P.s travel through all the Rings. That`s kinda the point of "Helluva Boss", since "Hazbin Hotel" is mostly confined to the Pride Ring outside of a few scenes in the Garden of Eden, Primordial Earth and Heaven.

I watched the Hazbin Hotel Pilot which is still semi-canon before I watched the Helluva Boss Pilot which is confirmed ta not exactly be canon so yeah, when I saw Sinners outside Blitz`s door I figured that out. I was working on basic assumptions from shit I know from my own Catholic upbringing, the Hebrew apocrypha the series is inspired by, some comics I`ve read within the universe and my own personal interest in angelogy and demonology even though I don`t actually believe in any of this shit anymore! I`m a casual geek, not a total lore nerd alright, so fuckin` sue me!

For context, not everyone in hell besides Charlie earned their spot there. Only a single block of a single district is made up of human sinners that died and went to hell, everywhere else is populated by natural born demons. The reason why Charlie seems so nice is because she is a LITERAL pampered princess raised by Heaven's greatest idealist. In this universe, Lucifer was literally sent to hell for trying to give humanity free will and make both earth and heaven a better place.

The part about the Sinners isn't quite right, all of Pentagram city (Hazbin's location) is Sinner's with occasional hallborn and the entire Pride ring which has multiple cities (Imp city as a example) is also mostly Sinners with some hellborn.

18:08 Angel Dust can't grow more arms; those were his extra pair that are retractable. He's a spider so he has 8 limbs total. His third pair is retractable mostly to make him easier to animate and a bit easier to make him emote with his hands so it won't look too "busy." It's also really funny when his third pair comes out with tommy guns blazing like the 1940's gangster he is😂

An interesting curiosity: Charlie is what we can call a nephilim, a half angel and half human being.

I know you've already watched the full series by now, but I just wanted to point out that the joke was that Nifty mistook Angel Dust for a woman, obviously he and Alastor are not women. It's actually one of a few areas in the pilot that you can really spot the 'amateur' nature of the show. Obviously it had incredible production value, but there were a few moments in the writing that smacked of amateur mistakes. That was one of them, because so many people mistakenly think that Angel is a woman because of that bit (you're the first to think she meant Alastor as well, which cracked me up). It's one of those jokes that are easy to misinterpret, and there definitely needed some kind of extra line in there to clue the audience in that she was just mistaken. Another example is the whole part where Angel mocks Vaggie with the whole "too late, toots" in regards to her killing him, then joking about "where would I go? To Double Hell?" That bit was clearly a sequence that was written very early in the development cycle and became a pet moment for the creator, because it makes absolutely no sense in the context of the lore presented by the show yet got included anyway. The whole premise of the show was about saving sinners from extermination through redemption, so obviously killing a demon was possible, and every demon would be very aware of that fact considering their was a purge every damn year. It very much feels like a joke/scene that was written before the lore of the show had been established and ended up as a square peg forced into a round hole. Still an incredible pilot obviously, and it puts a grin on my face that Vivian got the dividends for everything she's worked so hard for over the years. Just some observations.

20:25 When I saw the pilot I wished Vaggie had more lines in Spanish and that they would BE MORE AUDIBLE, because she has a few where she's cursing out Angel and then Alastor, but we can barely hear/understand what she's saying. Her speaking Spanish would fit her because she's supposed to be Salvadoran, because Vivziepop is also Salvadoran. I appreciated that Vaggie was given better lines in Spanish in the Amazon series.

Also, the characters were originally created for a cancelled arc of showrunner Vivienne Medrano(VivziePop`s) amateur webcomic "Zoophobia" called "Angels and Demons". A lot of the backstory and character designs and personalities were subtly changed from the webcomic to the Pilot to the final Amazon Prime series and "Helluva Boss" to make the characters more likeable and humanized despite being angels and demons who mostly look like composites of human and animal features.
