It was John Ellis (Vibrators) playong lead guitar. Great memories, I was there!
@zoeherriot8 жыл бұрын
It was Robert Smith of the Cure on these tracks according to the album. Ellis joined the Stranglers ten years later.

Hazel sounds so raw and awesome here... Now, live, she sounds like a shadow of herself. As post-punk she was one of the best. Now as a Celtic singer, not so much. She needs to find this 'fire' again.

And the 3rd of April Was I think the last but one gig that Joy Division played before the death of Ian Curtis. Played 3rd & 4th April UB40 where a support act if my memory serves me... I can remember Ian Dury forgetting the lyrics to peaches!

if only there wouldn't be this saxophone though
@DrKJPalmer2 жыл бұрын
On some CD releases the sax has been mixed out completely. Much better IMO, if not authentic to the gig.

After 15 pints of fullers london pride i can get me ead around the deepness and fathom the political reality of the artistic nature of the strangled vocals,and I talk a load of bollocks when I am pissed.

It's a shame,I'm a East Coast American, and all of my life, the best R&R always seemed to be British.Yardbirds,Kinks,Procol Harum,Hollies,oh yea, those other 2 bands that stole all of the attention! The Stranglers and the Damned were noticed by us in "The States" [God, I Hate that term] by far to few. Iggy Pop was a joke here,yet not in Germany [How's that Socialism crap workin' for ya? By the way, where's our lend-lease money? Oh yea, Remember the Marshall Plan? STOP YOUR BITCIN' AND PAY UP!
