I am going to get my camping gear purchased with the help of your reviews of tents & accessories needed to camp. I want to get out there & enjoy nature. My cousin is an avid camper & kayaking/canoeing expert. He has been camping & hitting the water since we were kids. We both got our love of camping from going with our grandparents to campgrounds all over the Blue Ridge Mountains in our home state of NC in the US. I go camping with him a lot but don't have my own equipment but that is going to change. I'll take his advice for equipment along with yours Haze. I can't wait to get out there & find some peace from this chaotic world. Just be one with nature. Nothing better than that. Thanks for all the reviews you do for equipment. It helps more people with their choices than you realize. Cheers mate!!

A good tip for splitting logs is to aim for the top but concentrate on the bottom. This seems to will the mind and body to make sure the axe passes all the way through. Basically think about where you want the axe to end up.

I bought 2 GB axes and I was admiring there quality and as I was putting the sheath back on the bigger of the 2 it cut through the leather and straight to the bone on my thumb.I had to go to A&E and the Doctor thought it was a Stanley knife that cut me.As a result the top of my thumb is completely numb and I will never regain the feeling.Be very carefully with these axes, they dont give second chances.

Thanks for sharing another really enjoyable trip with us all. Genuinely the perfect antidote to the stress filled lives we live and the often toxic environment that social media is becoming. That's a beautiful axe. I honestly feel that if a blacksmith from the 14th century were to be transported through a forest time portal into our time. He'd take one look at that axe and instantly recognise it as a fine piece of craftsmanship. He may even attempt to steal it from you. Even though he's from the 14th century. That doesn't mean that he isn't a chav. They even had wrong'uns back then.
