Great summary. I also think they are phenominal cars. You can of course open all the lids, fuel filler and glovebox without the ignition if you use the pull strings. The one for the glovebox is usually pretty obvious hanging down under the dash. My car didn't have the noice leather case for the tender, just a red bag similar to the one for the car cover. Also, it's not a spare tyre kit, it's a tyre sealant/inflator kit. Other things to mention might be that some cars have had failures of the F1 hydraulic pipe unions and it's worth knowing if these have been replaced. Lastly, those semi-recessed tail lights each have 3 skimpy plastic fixings that are prone to fatigue failure. It's worth just feeling to see if they are loose, but it's an easy fix to beef them up with some 2-pack epoxy. The suspension is known to eat ball joints fairly quickly so it's worth seeing if those have been done recently, and to listen for any clonks from underneath. Good advice on gearbox/clutch handling. For interest, I have the dealer check the readings on the clutch every year and at the moment the projected life is 82,000 miles. Mid-2008 cars onward had a much better F1 programme but I believe earlier cars can be upgraded. To see the F1 system in its natural environment click here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rnrJnYiKrLifgKs. The ECU also stores estimated life in the carboceramic brakes and my rotors are currently predicted to last 150,000 miles. The ceramics are a lot better than the steel brakes, but also don't go rusty and don't generate dirty brake dust so the car is easy to keep looking great. Even if you don't intend to go near a track I'd go for a car with ceramics every time, and they were effectively standard from 2008 on.

Good points. I guess it was mentioned by another post the rear lights will be loose on some cars and when I bought my car the rubber weather seal around the drivers door will wear at the point where your feet come into the car. I would also advise installing the 3M PPF in the front area of the car to protect against rock chips. When I first got the car I did not judge parking next to a right curb well. I did get a small amount of rim rash on my front passenger side rim which has been fixed. It is just a matter of getting used to parking the car on the street and to make sure to open the door slowly in case there is a high curb.

One of the best preowned information on F430 Ive seen. How does one find a reputable PPI shop when shopping outside your home area? Thanks for sharing

Thank you so much for the feedback. Generally speaking, Ferrari Chat is a good place to ask around on from other members. Google reviews also tells a good story on a shop as well.

I bought my 08 F430 spider in a private sale a couple years ago, so there’s so much I’m learning about. As far as the F1 pump, is it bad to open the doors kind of over and over while cleaning or repairing etc, without actually firing up the car and driving it? I’m guessing you’re pressurizing it without using it. Or does that not have any detrimental affects?

I need some insight. I wanna buy a exhaust for the f430 but I don’t know what to get I want it to sound like the f1 and capristo sells a exhaust. Do I know anything about this exhaust. The muffler itself is around 4-6000. Do I need headers and cats to make this or any exhaust sound great or can I buy each piece at a time or not at all. Thanks for the help.
@johningle63634 жыл бұрын
Check out the KZbin normal guy supercar not to step on any toes but he does a lot of cool DIY work and he's used different exhausts. Definitely want to replace the the headers they are prone to cracking internally and you would not even know it. HBI's video is very insightful left one sound could come from an s-line exhaust or check kline. Not sure if Klein makes a pipe for the 4:30 they do for the 458. At minimum replace the exhaust brackets with the capristos.

I don’t want fabspeed I want capristo. Maybe I’ll go with fabspeed headers alone but not the whole system.

Great vid. Just need clarity on one thing. Is the "oil / water pump" a separate component to the "heat exchanger?" I know the 360 has issues with latter. Does the 430 have issues with both these components? Or are they the same component? Thanks
@HBiAuto3 жыл бұрын
The oil/water pump is separate from the heat exchanger.
@MrGB19993 жыл бұрын
@@HBiAuto OK thanks. So can the exchanger be an issue too?
@HBiAuto3 жыл бұрын
@@MrGB1999 Yes that is correct, that is why we recommend coolant flushes every 3 years to prevent corrosion which leads to failure of the heat exchanger, although ultimately it may fail, this will extend the life dramatically. Another thing to consider if the heat exchanger fails, it can destroy the gearbox. Therefore this heat exchanger needs inspection annually to prevent this from occurring.
@MrGB19993 жыл бұрын
@@HBiAuto appreciate it! I know it was definitely a thing to watch in the 360. Amazing how they didn't rectify that issue for the 430... In terms of inspecting, is it still buried in the middle of the block? Is there a good way to get a look at it?
@HBiAuto3 жыл бұрын
@@MrGB1999 that is correct but inspection of the coolant tank for metal shavings or oil mixture is a good idea as well if it has begun to fail
