I don't think so. It payed homage to the original and wrapped up the story nicely. Not sure what exactly you would expect except yes it could have been done 10 years ago.

uh, just because one person dislikes something you like, or likes something you dislike, does not make them "Delusional". Nor does it make the movie "bad" or "good". Everyone has different tastes, something movie critics (whose profession is literally useless because tastes and audiences change over time and so do critics' opiion of movies, so the audiences should be just left to make their own decisions) like to try to make people forget. You're not an idiot if you dislike something most people and critics like, and you're not an idiot if you like something most critics and people dislike. People honestly should be allowed their tastes without getting called names for it, when it's something innocent and harmless like christmas movies. But American society has forgotten that, sadly.
