He is so fun to watch...I will never forget being at arrowhead in 2018 for like game 2 or 3 vs the 49ers. My dad and I were in awe of some of the stuff we were watching him do. He had a scramble in the east end zone that ended with him throwing a rocket to the right corner for Connely I believe. And it was like watching a master at work. We had never really seen anyone scramble like he did and throw on the run like that...and it's been amazing to watch ever since. We have held season tickets since before I was born, 40+ years. Been going to games since the early 90s, I love the chiefs and I love this city. I'm glad all the long time die hard fans are getting to witness this current greatness, such greatness that it is changing the entire game. How bout those....CHIEFS!

Deep ball in general seems to have become less prevalent in the league nowadays. Even in teams with an elite WR1, like the Bills, Josh Allen is having to adjust his style more. Believe it or not, his adjusted deep ball completion rate on PFF, which is completion rate plus on-target drop rate, is at 42.9%, compared to Mahomes at 37.9%. Allen has attempted 35 deep throws compared to Mahomes' 29 (Allen also has an extra game from TNF this week), 12.2% of Allen's pass attempts are deep throws compare to Mahomes' 10.9%, and Allen has 3 TDs to 4 INTs on deep throws while Mahomes has 1 TD to 4 INTs. This shows how much Allen is having to adjust his game as well while maintaining a pretty solid completion rate. Allen grades higher on passing depth, however, because he has a lower turnover worthy play rate compared to big time throws (at least that's my estimation). This likely means that Mahomes is targeting receivers on big time throws who aren't doing so great at getting separation, which makes sense since no one in our squad, at least yet, is a legit WR1 like Stefon Diggs or even a WR2 like Gabe Davis. All this to say, I'm not concerned about Mahomes having lost his touch on deep throws. It takes two to tango, and no matter how well you try to target a deep pass, a lot of the effort put into completing it has to come from the receiver as well. We can get there with our current corps, but it will take time and practice.
